Finally Checking In ❧ Eva & Lu
Eva knew she should have gone to see Lu earlier, texting him wasn’t enough. She needed to find time to go and check on her friend after everything that had happened with the trial. She had been so worried about Henrik, and what she knew was going to happen to him, that she hadn’t seen the problems with the Shifters coming at all. It had also probably never occurred to her because the news was honestly shocking. She never could have imagined the Council taking such drastic measures, but at the same time, she didn’t know why she was ever surprised by what the Council did.
After everything that had happened with Paul though, she had been spending most of her limited free time with him. She was also secretly hoping that Paul would be at Solly’s, as she knew he often frequented bar. The fact that it took her desire to see him, to actually get her to go see Lu, made her feel even more guilty. However, she also had a feeling that Lu would be happy that things between the two of them had finally worked out and she was actually excited to talk to her friend about it.
After closing up the shop, she headed over to the bar figuring that even if Paul weren’t there, Lu would be, as he always seemed to be. She entered the bar and slid past the crowd. The Elf was glad to see that there was an open stool and quickly grabbed it up while she had the opportunity. Lu was on the other side, but she waited patiently for him to finish and she smiled when he turned around, “Hey, I just wanted to come say hi.” She laid her arm out along the counter in greeting knowing that a hug would be awkward over the bar.
