Nix was born on the Sphere, in the cleaner side of town. Though her father wasn't like the usual inhabitants who threw away things for any small reason. He treasured the items he owned but what he treasured most was a long black coat he always wore. It was an article of clothing he owned for a large portion of his life. Sadly, his wife didn't share the same mindset but stayed to maintain appearances. Nix was born to this odd pair but it was mostly her father that looked after her. Sadly, he was only there for the first six years of her life. In his last moments, he handed Nix the coat and told her to treasure it always so it could keep her safe.
With her husband gone, Nix's mother wished for a brand new start. There was just one problem, her daughter that was still around. A new beginning was impossible with 'that burden' around. So she had a plan, one that would assure the child would never come back and ruin the cover story she had planned to explain away her disappearance. Hiring someone to take her to where all the garbage is thrown out and assuring she is sent down with it. The only thing that saved Nix's life was the coat she held onto. She held onto the coat, that was much too big for her at the time, and wished that her father could save her. The Jinki responded and formed a pair of wings that guided the child down to the ground. The landing was rough, Nix hitting her head upon a hard piece of scrap.
While the memory as to how Nix ended up there were still blurry, she ended up in the care of a doctor named Alice. A loud speaking woman but seemed to mean well. The trauma from being thrown from the Sphere and the impact of the fall had erased nearly all the memories Nix had of the place she called home. As far as she, and anyone else knew, she was a Groundling and always had been. Just another orphan found among the trash. Though she had gain the abilities of a Giver quite early, not that she knew how to use them that young. Instead she learned many things over the years, medical talents through Alice, how to get by in such a dangerous world, and how to use her Jinki to protect herself and others. It did allow her to travel to other towns easily to aid with those needing medical assistance but she felt like she still wasn't doing enough to help.
It was thanks to her siblings sharing what the Cleaners do that lead Nix to join them. Though Enjin, who had always visited a lot over the years, was against it at first. Not wanting her to die on the field due to all the dangers. So, at first, Nix worked in the office settings to assist with medical treatments. Though she eventually had her chance to prove her worth on the battlefield and had been allowed to assist others outside the headquarters from then on. Mainly, Nix helps the Akuta Team more often than others. While Nix thinks low of her own worth, it is her goal to protect the people she cares about and to provide aid to all she can.
Jinki Abilities: Nix's coat (Kurao) has four stages to it's use and capabilities. Though if she utilizes it's final stage, it runs a high risk of her falling into a blind rage and attacking anything nearby.
Base Stage (One): Scales - Kurao transforms from a long black coat to armored gear coated in pale blue scales. This provides Nix with high defenses and enables her to use her raw strength to defeat Trash Beasts, since the coat provides a pair of scale coated gloves as well. Should Nix remove a scale and give it to an ally, it will protect them for a strong hit or two before it dissolves away. For each scale that is given, it takes away one level Nix can reach with her Jinki until the scale vanishes. This provides others with protection and also acts as a fail safe to keep Nix from falling into a rage later on.
Stage Two: Tail - A tail forms from the base of the coat and serves as a useful extension. It can grip and throw objects/people along with wrapping around part of a Trash Beast to hold it in place. It can't be sharpened to serve as a weapon.
Stage Three: Wings - A pair of dragonic wings form out of the back of Kurao, giving Nix the capacity to fly. Nix could carry at least one person but it would slow her down to do so.
Stage Four: Claws - The final stage is when Nix's gloves form long sharp claws, which the claws themselves have no special properties aside from being able to cause massive damage to Trash Beasts and whoever is hit with them. This is due to them being paired with Nix's natural strength. Though the longer this stage is used, the more likely she is to fall into a blind rage. A clear indicator of this is looking for a 'horn' to sprout from the right side of her head. Once it starts to appear and grow longer, there are only a few moments left before it's too late. Once in a rage, the only solution is to knock Nix unconscious or have someone there to talk her out of it. Though only a special few are capable of doing so.
Hello, hello
Let me tell you what it's like to be a zero, zero
Let me show you what it's like to never feel, feel
Like I'm good enough for anything that's real, real
I'm looking for a way out
SPOILERS ahoy, get your asses in gear and go take a gander at the show's site before watching if you've never seen it.
So! Past few months I've been obsessed with a webseries called TOME, and I'll blame Balco to the grave for pulling me in. Had numerous ideas, but lack of motivation and a stressful past few months stopped anything from bearing fruition until now. I can't say if I'm happy with or neutral towards this project, but at least it's finally finished. Short, but I got through what I set out to complete.
Essentially, the video revolves around Kirbopher and Zetto in the player's struggle to attain the Forbidden Power, all the while knowing his friendships are suffering as the price of playing a double life. It puts enormous pressure on him throughout the tournament and he ends up taking it out on Nye, bitter from (at least in his eyes) not being taken seriously and shut down in Dragon Drama. Unsure of how to proceed, the player's still conflicted, despite the virus being momentarily put out of commission. I loved the revelation in Warring Demons and it's been ridiculously fun to look back n analyze the characters and their actions in earlier episodes. Lotta parallels, much of what I discovered in creating this thing.
