"Write about a song"
*my interpretation of this song when I first listened to it* This song is about regrets. Everything you wish could have been, or could have not been. It's about learning to let go, because living with regrets is just as agonizing as if you were carrying the devil on your back. It's a song about how free and wonderful you will feel once you finally do let go, but if you are still holding on, you will never even realize that such freedom exists. This song feels dark and painful, yet uplifting at the same time. It is an inspiration, and is almost empathetic to everyone that just can't let go. You can feel the truth, the despair, and the resolve in her voice and in the chord progression. If you truly listen to this song in its entirety, you are left with a feeling in the pit of your stomach that I can't describe. "Shake it Out"-florence and the machine.
