A. Were the expectations or objectives you set for this subject during the start of semester match with what you have attained? Explain.

I enjoyed my Media and Information Literacy subject because I learned so many different things which has satisfied my main expectation for COM01. I realized I barely scratched the surface of media and technology prior to this subject. Now I am aware of how the different types of media work, the power that media possesses, the oppression of freedom of speech and the contribution of media to the advancement and progress of a society. I also learned to use the different media platforms and understand first-hand the power of words that has the ability to influence the minds of other people. I am happy that I learned the precautions I must take when I am on the Internet and receiving information as well as creating content. I learned to not accept everything I see on the internet as it is but rather evaluate and verify the sources before disseminating the information to other people. I am happy that I got to try the different media platforms including making my own podcast which is something I have never done before. This subject was very interesting and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I am glad to have been able to take Media and Information Literacy as it gave me clearer and more specific view of media which I can utilize for future purposes.

Dear Ma'am Nicole,

Thank you so much for being a great EAPP and MEDIL professor. You possess so much knowledge in both subjects and I'm glad that you enjoyed sharing everything you knew with my classmates and I. I truly enjoyed your classes even if at times, your activities were at times challenging. I know you did that for us to really experience the world of mass communication as well as the world of academic writing which is certainly nothing close to being an easy feat. I hope you saw minterest and eagerness to learn the lessons you taught being that I too, hold journalism and writing close to my heart. Thank you for inspiring me to do better as a netizen and rethink my perspective on how the media works. I am grateful that you were my professor assigned to teach this course and I hope you continue to inspire young minds the importance of mass communication and create more journalists and media men and women in the next batches of senior high students. Also, thank you Ma'am for excusing me every time I go home to my province and letting me make up for missed activities. That really means a lot to me. Thank you also Ma'am for proofreading my group's research paper. You helped us so much and asked for nothing in return. Sana, for all the good things that you have done for your students, God will send you a jowa that will shower you with love and care in tenfold!!

Our failure to conform into the Metro Manila Development Authority, led us to find other institutions that might have been dealing with the issue of traffic. On the 21st of March, we’ve sent a letter querying for an interview with the Imus City Hall. Though of short notice, it is a great honor to have them for a sincere conference on the 23rd of March.

On the day of the interview, Pauline, a groupmate residing in Imus, came into the city hall. We have prepared several questions to keep the discussion as formal and concise as possible. As a result, we are satisfied that the queries were answered with just answers. Listed below are the questions and its corresponding answers.

Based on the interview and observations acquired from the engagement with the institution, we could say that the attempt to solve the traffic in a particular city is a success. Though the traffic management department of the Imus City Hall did not provide specific vision and mission goals, we have taken it from their website.

The issue regarding heavy traffic could be one of the hardest problems a society can handle. Upon the visit on the city hall of Imus, Cavite, and the evaluation of their role in managing the issues on traffic in their town, we can state that the recent usage of effective traffic schemes is a success. Their general goal, to find a way to ease the traffic issues in the city, is finally ending up with the solutions.

Way back when Imus is not yet a city, the use of traffic lights is rare. Most of the time, traffic enforcers are the ones who are managing the traffic. These enforcers are not as efficient as traffic lights. You can really tell the difference between the situations if it is being operated by the traffic enforcers or with traffic lights. The road congestion is heavier with the bias of which side goes first, while if it is being run by a traffic light the traffic is moderate and moving.

However, despite previous complications, the city has come up with a lot more efficient solutions. For our group, they have been effective with their rule enforcement. Not only that, they have managed to make the people manifest discipline whenever and wherever.

We would have to include some suggestions for their city’s improvement. We would like to see more road signs and clear regulations on the next visit. Not only that, we also hope for the enhancement of the traffic lights all around the city.
