By Nigel Munt, the Function of Legal Counsel for Insurance Companies
A policy adjuster and a legal advisor are two quite different professions. A policy adjuster is a person who inspects your damaged property, assesses the extent of the damage, and then modifies the damage claim. They might or might not be employed by insurance firms. A candidate for the position of insurance claims adjuster must be older than 18 years old, licensed, and have completed the necessary training.
Nigel Munt claims that attorneys representing insurance companies only become involved when there is a disagreement between them and the policyholder or when the policyholder's claim is being held up. Insurance claim adjusters may be held accountable for the policyholders' improper conduct and dishonesty.
