Unfortunately, we collectively found out that this was a scam. Sai faked the whole thing.

Updates are coming out and are confusing, so I’m not going to share anything until it’s definitive but it looks like this was a scam, based off of what their close friends and biological sister said.

Just remember, we all tried to do the right thing.

You know what’s interesting about the Sai drama? That he could have said it was a terf who kidnapped and imprisoned him, but instead said it was a man. All this whinging about terfs and their dangers to transwomen, but they know themselves that women actually being violent threats to other people is rare enough that pretending otherwise wouldn’t be believable...

Ok so apparently Sai’s situation was fake, not sure what to say about that but I thought I’d say it. Also don’t be a jackass about this like “I knew it was a hoax from the very begging but no one listened to me” If you say that type of shit rn just fuck off. Also don’t use this situation to be cruel to black transfems who need actual help.

im so fucking stressed rn. the amount of fucking racism and transphobia lately has been getting to me. it’s so fucking hard. especially with the #findsai and #finemia shit going on rn (pls look into that and spread that).

it’s so fucking hard being black n trans. im crying rn bc i went on whats supposed to be my “safe space” for queer ppl. But obviously there will always be racist white gays, hundreds of replies, just denying the racism against me or saying i was lying or saying how we should be united and how u can be racist to white ppl too. There’s really no safe space for me, huh? There’s no where?

we get sm shit, from everyone. and im so sick of this shit. it’s so fucking draining to just be bombarded in a place where you’re supposed to be supported. Obviously I was expecting some ignorance, the site is full of mostly white teenagers. But fuck, not that much. Not for 3 months since i even fucking posted it til now. it’s exhausting. so fucking exhausting

It's been near confirmed that the Sai situation was faked/planned for money. It's awful, but I just thought since you had a post up you deserved to know and possibly update everyone on it (with reminders that this does not lessen just how much danger trans women of colour are in every day just for existing). You don't have to answer this, I just wanted to let you know.

Oh yeah Twitter filled me in. I had deleted the first post and was about to post an update, so I think I'll do that by answering this ask

(For context, Sai's roommate confirmed that everything was recorded inside a closet, and Sai was only doing this to boost their gfm. They weren't in danger, it was made-up)

So.. yeah, I don't think there's much more I can say about this other than PLEASE don't use this situation to dismiss Black trans women's issues. This isn't their fault, it's only Sai's. Don't be transphobic and anti-Black because of one person
