Treasure Hunt: Find Gold | OPEN
The air was nice and crisp, and the birds were singing when Cassandra arrived to the Chapter Three bookstore. Since moving to Swynlake, this was one of her first days off where she had nothing planned. As she pushed open the old wooden door, a bell chimed to announce her arrival, and she noticed that the store was full with other residents.
Cassandra quickly veered to the room that held the used books. Used books, to her, were a treasure, and she enjoyed looking through them to see what she could find. Her bookcase at home was overflowing with books that she’s collected and read, and now she was in need of a couple more. As she scanned the shelves, her eyes landed on a particular old-ish book that she had read a couple years ago, and she rushed to pick it up. It was a book that you hardly came across these days, and seeing it made her feel a case of nostalgia.
“What a find!” she exclaimed to herself and smiled at the people standing around her. She gently lifted it up, and flipped open to a random page, and started leafing through.
Towards the end of the book, a piece of paper fell out and she leaned down to pick it up. Carefully opening it, Cassandra was surprised to find that it held a poem:
Hidden somewhere in Swynlake Is a gift of gold. It holds happiness and wonder Or so I’ve been told. Make a new friend, and find the clues At three other places. The ending will leave you fulfilled In so many cases.
Looking back up with a confused, startled look on her face, she muttered to herself “Hidden gold? Clues?” Clapping the book closed with the clue inside, placing it under her arm and then picking up another, Cassandra muttered “It sounds like a treasure hunt. Must be a joke.” As she opened the book in her hand, she lowered it and leaned in towards the person standing next to her.
“Hey, have you heard of any gold being hidden and buried around here?” Maybe they knew if Swynlake had any history regarding treasure and gold. She had mostly been spending her time researching magic within the area, but maybe she should start investigating whether the town had another story.
(OOC: The clues will be sent to you, in case if your character wants to be the one to find the next clue, and read it out loud.)
