Huge congratulations to all those honored by the 2024 Asian/Pacific American Awards for Literature!
I just checked the last chapter that I wrote for that endlessly long Naruto fanfiction that I wrote years ago and I remember why I stopped: The Boruto movie dropped and the plot elements were so very similar to what I had envisioned for my story. The next chapter is ready but I never published it, because I am introducing new weapons into the world and those look and work very similar to what they ended up introducing in the movie. And I distinctly remember reading about the movie and the upcoming series and I can still feel my enthusiasm for the franchise evaporate.
I didn’t like Naruto anymore, I actually hated what they did with Boruto back then. That combined with my ideas overlapping with elements of their story, my new demanding job and just general fanfiction fatigue, do explain why I never went on to finish it.
Well, I will try to wrap up the current ark at least. If there is still somebody reading it, they might be happy about it. If nobody reads it, I’ll at least have finished it. And maybe one day I’ll even get to the second part of the story that I originally envisioned.
