#finding the magic

Aren’t you the one who writes Finding the Magic? I was wondering when the next chapter will be out, or if you’ll continue it at all? I really love the fic and I want to read more!!

Yes I am! As for the next chapter, I’ve been working two jobs, volunteering, and traveling to train my puppy a lot this summer. I haven’t had a lot of time to get anything done regarding my writing, but I still plan on continuing the fic! It may be another month or two, but I do hope to get a chapter out before the end of summer. Unfortunately I don’t write when I’m in school, so from now on, I may be continuing the story but there may only be four or five updates per year until I finish it up...

For you guys who don’t know, Finding the Magic is my Clexa Hogwarts au. I started it before season 3 and it’s been a slow going process with probably around 20 parts. You can find it on Ao3 and my account is heroicclarke (which was my original url if y’all have been here long enough). I think I might be an update or two behind, I write it on Wattpad because I like the formatting of the typing process. But hey if I get more requests to keep writing I’ll definitely put it higher up on my to do list!!

Find the Magic

Prologue: When I was younger, I was always trying to find the magic in my life. Looking at a burning fire swallowed my whole being, becoming mesmerised with how the flames danced, and how the colours flickered and hissed. To me, that fire was sure proof that something unexplainable was alive in this world. Finding the magic became an all consuming habit, I’d find it in the most mundane things. I found it in the rain, as it raced down the car windows, reflecting the glistening red lights from the cars rushing by. I found it in the way the wind would gently rustle the leaves in spring, and then how it would whirl and howl, ferociously making the bare branches bend to its will during the frosty months. I found it in the minuscule movements of the earth, as the soil crumbled by the smallest fraction, allowing beautiful new flowers to make their way into the world. When I got older, I thought the magic I’d been searching and yearning for, was just the beauty. I found solace in that, rather than disappointment. At least there was beauty in the world.
