When you need to attach a landing to a wall and there's no rim board at that elevation, you need to attach to the studs inside the wall. We don't like to open up the house in this case, instead we make composite spacers and attach them at pre determined locations. Then they receive a healthy dose of premium sealant before attaching a ledger against them. This keeps moisture from being trapped between the ledger and the house. Normally I don't work on #Sunday, but with the #rain we've been #blessed with, I'm taking any dry day I can. Always #innovating. When I see a product designed for one trade and realize it should be used in mine.
