@shutterfoodie’s Birthday treat brought us to the Spanish Tapas Bar at Jiak Chuan Road, @esquinasg. The last and only time she ate there, she was down with a terrible cold so she said she wanted to give it another go and it didn’t fail to impress her! • Sea urchin sandwich, stracciatella and winter black truffle. $12 a pop, but so worth it. Textures, crunchiness, the smoothness of the uni. Yums! • Grilled baby sucrine lettuce, herb yoghurt, macadamia nuts, cider vinegar glaze. This was just oh-so-good, I’m pretty sure I can eat this all by myself. & I love the charred bits because it gives a little crisp and bitterness. • Beetroot pickled and roasted, stracciatella, smoked walnuts & horseradish icecream. So refreshing and delightful. And of course who’d thought of horseradish icecream! • Roasted cauliflowers, cauliflower couscous, serrano ham & Manchego cheese. A great plate after the refreshing beet. Giving something a little heftier with so much warm flavours... • Georges Bank fresh scallops, iberico chickpeas, black garlic. I love how the scallops had a slight bounciness in texture, grilled to a delectable perfection! • US “Family Reserve” beef ribeye, charred leeks, romesco... one can’t go wrong with a beautifully seared sliced steak for somethinf heavier. • Braised beef & pork cannelloni, foie gras, cepes béchamel, winter black truffle... so rich and that filling with its rich foie gras flavour just bursts in your mouth! • a bonus we ordered á la carte, this foei gras terrine simply melts like butter! So good we ordered 2 portions! 🤤🤤🤤 • and finally the Spanish suckling pig with rhubarb and apple chutney in mulled wine jus was just the perfect thing to end our savoury lunch! Love how moist and succulent the meat was yet the crackling was just crispy enough without being too hard... • #todayihad #whatieat #esquinasingapore #tapasbar #spanishtapas #fineeats #spanishcuisine (at Esquina)
