The dumbest thing they’ve ever done

Accidentally getting caught on security camera while hypnotizing someone. She had to spend the whole night destroying the evidence and erasing memories of people who saw it.

Any powers/special talents

Fast runner, able to turn herself into a gust of wind, producing light from the ruby in her forehead and using the light to hypnotize people into obeying short commands at face to face range.

She is also really efficient decision maker and able to make keen observations about people around her.

What they’d order at a restaurant

Being a wind spirit, she doesn’t usually have to eat that much. If she has to eat, she’ll just order a salad or something else she can eat fast and be done with it. Naps in the middle of the day in warm sunlight are really good snacks too.

Ideal love interest (if applicable)

Someone who gives her enough space and can put up with her snarks. Preferably someone who doesn’t waste away while she has to go back to the world between the worlds.

Major fear

Being not able to protect people she cares about. Failing to complete a given task and causing some major disaster because of it.

Dream job

Anything that is not her current job.

Preferably, she would not work at all and just travel around the worlds with nothing to hold her back.

The ruby on Fin’s forehead

The wind spirits are creatures that are born from sudden gusts of wind and live on pure air and sunlight alone. Most of them are really short lived, because they usually lack self-awareness and can easily dissolve back into the mother wind once they grow too tired to play anymore.

Finitybi is a wind spirit that became self-aware when she was very young. When she is not in her wind form, she has a physical body and needs to sleep and eat like normal humans to keep her body going (though to much lesser extent than normal human would). Despite having a body, Fin is still a wind spirit inside and needs frequent sunlight in order to survive. The ruby on Fin’s head gathers and stores light into her body for later use.

With practice, Fin has learned that if she concentrates really hard, she can use the light stored inside her body to emit light from her ruby. However, doing so will deplete her light storage rapidly and she can’t do that for prolonged periods of time.

If her light supply gets too low, she starts having signs of very high fever (dizziness, sweating, incoherence, etc). Once light storage reaches critically low level, she will pass out and can even die if she can’t get more daylight into her ruby soon enough.

In short: Fin eats light with a gemstone in her head. Deal with it. XD

Fin - Laugh

It was coldest time of the year. The wind was blowing from the north and the air was colored white with snow. A librarian was sitting at his desk at warmth of the fireplace. He picked up the glasses from his nose and rubbed his eyes a bit. It had been a long day and the man wasn’t exactly at the peak of his youth anymore.

Winter wasn’t usually a busy time of the year, but there were alarming signs of agitation coming from the nearby nations and the king needed his contracts and speech templates. Tiring and ungrateful job, yes, but the librarian felt good that he could somehow help to keep the kingdom running and in peace.

The old man was ready to call it for a day and get some rest, when suddenly a strong gust of wind threw the library window wide open letting the snow and freezing cold weather inside. The man rushed to close the window and was starting to pick up papers scrambled all over the place when he heard a quiet derisive snicker coming from somewhere near the ceiling.

“Sorry about the entrance. I could have just walked in, but it seems that appointments with the royal librarians are hard to arrange these days.”

The man turned around and saw a young woman sitting on top of the rafter. He felt blood escaping from his face as he noticed her long ears and the red gemstone in the middle of her forehead. As a librarian, he knew well who his visitor was and for what purpose she was here.

“I see you recognize me”, the woman said with a smirk, “Good for you. We can skip the introductions then. During next year there will be a war. With effort you can prevent that war, but if you do, you’ll be assassinated on day your first grandchild is born.”

The man was trembling too much to stand. He sat down and burrowed his head in his arms. Of course he had read that the life of the chosen was never easy, but this…

“I don’t know what to do… How I’m supposed to pick one of such horrifying fates?”

The spirit chuckled. Hollowly.

“At least you have options.”
