introvert/extrovert: Finlay was raised to intermingle with society, especially politicians and military. He knows much about that and in the end, it’s made him very talkative. He has a charismatic and friendly demeanor that makes others reveal a lot about themselves.

organized/disorganized: This is something he’s always been bad at and after he’s made Pathfinder, he actively tries to make it a priority. But he just isn’t the type of person who is built to be organized.

close minded/open-minded: He tends to be open minded more than not.

Since most of my SWTOR pun people have been posted, I’m throw in Mass Effect for something a little different.

My Pathfinder, Finlay, is definitely the type to throw puns at the most random times, majority being inappropriate.

Wild and Free (Finlay/Trix)

Here is my second OC kiss! This is for @a1thusa of our Ryders: my Finlay and her Trix. I hope you like it!

“Why do humans do the stupidest things?”

Trix Ryder smirked as she glanced over the edge of the cliff, knowing that the question was only partially serious. Lexi didn’t mean much by it. She was only worried about what might happen to the humans in her care… and what broken limbs she would need to fix at the end of this craziness.

“No worries, Lex.” Her cousin, Finlay, threw an arm around the doctor’s shoulders, squeezing her affectionately. “The Ryder family always does whatever daring things we can find.” 

Lexi frowned at his words. “That does not make me feel better.”

“Who said it was supposed to?” He teased, approaching where Trix stood with Liam and Cora, waiting for him with the harness.

As he was being strapped in, Drack collapsed on the ground beside Vetra, a look of boredom on his face. “What’s with the safety gear?”

“Humans are fragile, Drack.” Vetra reminded him with a laugh. “They can’t survive a jump like that without help.”

Lexi nodded at the turian. “That’s exactly why they need to stop this nonsense.”

“Never!” Finlay called from where he stood, the harness buckled securely around his waist. He gave the bungee cord a tug for good measure. “Where’s the fun in that?”

Lexi rolled her eyes, but didn’t complain again. She only tightened her hold on the medpac in her hands. Trix caught the movement. She would have reassured the asari that this wasn’t the first time they’d jumped off of cliffs, but she doubted that would help assuage her worries.

Liam and Cora turned to her next, strapping her into a harness of her own. It didn’t take long before she and Finlay were ready to go.

Finlay turned his eyes on her, crinkling at the sides with barely contained laughter. “Wish me luck, cousin.”

Trix grinned, leaning forward to plant an affectionate kiss on his cheek. When she stepped back, she waved to the edge of the cliff. “After you, Fin.”

With a salute, her cousin fell backwards off the cliff, descending at a rapid pace. With only a second’s hesitation, Trix followed him, diving as if she was headed into a pool of water instead of the emptiness of air. Her heart dropped into her stomach at the change in pressure, air rushing by her as she followed Finlay down. The ground got closer at an alarming rate, hair whipping at her face. She would have screamed if she could find her voice. Without warning, the bungee cable snapped tight, bouncing her up before she descended downwards again.

Each time she snapped back, the drop was smaller and smaller until finally she was only hanging in the air, her cousin swaying beside her, laughing like a maniac. Trix, on the other hand, was breathless. Reaching her arms out, she swung back and forth, adrenaline still coursing through her body. 

This was the best way to live: wild and free with those you love.

2. Who falls asleep on the couch and who puts a blanket over them?

Finlay tends to run himself ragged during the events of the game and would fall asleep in the most random places on the ship. The couch in his cabin was a favorite. Gil, whenever he would come to bed, would always make sure that Fin was comfortable, no matter where he was snoozing.

3. They end up going to a party? What couple are they? Ex- Clinging to one another? Just there to steal some free food and leave? Both want to party?

Finlay and Gil are the couple that become the life of the party. They both have personalities that demand attention and believe me, people notice them. They are hard to ignore when apart, but even harder to ignore when together.

7. If one partner isn’t the best at communicating their feelings, how do they show their feelings to their significant other in other ways?

Finlay is usually an open book when it comes to his feelings, but they usually aren’t very deep. With Gil, it’s completely different. He feels a love he’s never felt before and has a tough time expressing that at first. The best way Finlay can do this would be to leave Gil little things to make sure he takes care of himself: snacks, drinks, magazines, music... anything to help.

8. How did they try to impress one other before they were dating?

Finlay’s go to way of trying to impress someone is to show them what a dork he is. He becomes this silly jokester who tries to make sure the person he’s trying to impress always laughs. Whether it’s a joke, a situation, an object: he finds a way to make it funny and usually succeeds.

13. What is a memory they share together that makes them both laugh so hard they cry when they think about it?

Whenever they remember the first time Finlay met Jill and revealed their relationship in famous Fin fashion, leaving her completely speechless, it makes them laugh about her reaction every time.

5. “You, me, PJ’s, pizza, bed. The PJ’s are optional.”

Finlay settled into the oversized chair he had bought on Aya and attempted to focus on the datapad in his hands. Music played softly in the background while he read his emails, attemping to figure out which problem he wanted to tackle first. He wasn’t the type of person to leave anything to chance. His sister, Esther, was someone who would shoot first and ask questions later. Finlay would ask questions until he’d exhausted the topic to the point that people would give up on him making a decision. He couldn’t help that he was thorough.

Finlay hadn’t heard the door to his room slide open. He only paused in his reading when a pair of hands covered his eyes.

A distinct accent met his ears a moment later. “You, me, pizza, bed. Clothes are optional.”

Finlay smiled. There was little that voice couldn’t cure. Gil moved away, dropping his hands from Finlay’s face so that the Pathfinder could glance over his shoulder. His grey-blue eyes lit up at the sight of the man he loved. “Pizza? How did you get that out here?”

Gil smiled conspiratorially. “I have my ways.”

Finlay had to resist rolling his eyes. “Vetra?”

Gil nodded, slightly disappointed that he figured it out so quickly. “Vetra.”

“It figures that pizza would be contraband.” Finlay placed the datapad down and stretched, his shirt riding up to show off his abdomen. He noticed Gil’s eyes gravitate to the exposed section of skin and linger for a moment. Grinning, the Pathfinder poked Gil in the arm with his index finger. “Distracted?”

Gil chuckled, brushing the taunt off. “Alright, funny guy. I’m going to get the food. You pick the movie.”

The engineer hurried away before Finlay could say no. He groaned. He hated having to make decisions. His biggest fear was that he would decide to do something that someone disliked. Or that someone got hurt because of a decision he’d made.

When Gil reentered the room a couple minutes later, pizza and beer in hand, Finlay still hadn’t made a choice. Handing one of the plates to his boyfriend, Gil sat on the soft mattress that they had taken to sharing most nights. Leaning over, he glanced at the images on the screen of the datapad before smirking.

“Still trying to decide on a movie?”

Finlay cringed, hating how much research he put into something as simple as watching a movie.

In response to the expression, Gil pressed a kiss to Fin’s cheek.  “This is precisely why I love you.”

“Because I’m indecisive?”

Resting his head on Finlay’s shoulder, Gil watched as the Pathfinder typed another film title into the search bar. “No. Because you care so damn much. After all that time I’ve spent on the Nexus with Tann and the rest of the Initiative, it’s welcome to say the least.”

Finlay smiled, shutting the datapad off and reaching for the remote. Then he held it out to Gil enticingly. “You choose tonight.”

Lifting his head, Gil pretended to act shocked. “Me? But it’s such a big decision!”

Finlay rolled his eyes before pressing the plastic electronic into his hand. “Just do it before I regret it.”

Gil leaned in, stopping about an inch from Fin’s mouth. “I love you, you know.”

Finlay grinned before meeting his lips. When he pulled away, he met Gil’s beautiful eyes. “And that makes me the luckiest man in the galaxy.”

Gil Brodie Week: 1, 6, 13, and 19! :)

1. Imagine Gil as a Sim- what are his traits and aspiration?

LOL, what a question! As far as traits go, he’s definitely perceptive, charismatic, creative, and a goofball. He’s also a big foodie, loves to eat comfort food with his friends. He’s outgoing, family-oriented, and a quick learner. (More than the usual five, but I couldn’t choose.) His aspiration would probably be either Nerd Brain (book smart and handy) or Big Happy Family.

6. What kind of animals do you think he’d keep as pets? What would he name them? If he’s dating Ryder, how would Ryder respond to Gil coming home with them?

Gil is a dog person. 200 percent. He would name them silly names like Socks or Spot (many times naming his dog after an item in the room). He sleeps with them at the end of his bed and by the morning, the dogs are laying in between him and Finlay. Finlay doesn’t mind the huge family of dogs and actually prefers having them around when Gil works late. (He also likes knowing that Gil will have someone to keep him company if Fin is out being the Pathfinder).

13. Where would he live in Heleus? If he’s dating Ryder, would he have to compromise and live somewhere else?

When it’s time to finally settle down with his family (Finlay and their child/children), Gil decides he wants to live in a place where they could raise their family. The Nexus wouldn’t work and Gil didn’t particularly like any of the planets they had settled (although the one that would have won out would probably have been Eos. First settled world and all that.) After endgame, Meridan was the most likely candidate for a home. So they would set up their forever home there.

19. How does Gil deal with crushes? Does he have a crush on anyone in particular?
