i dont think the privilege of being rich on the dream smp comes from any kind of capitalistic or materialistic gain, you're right anyone can grind for hours and get the same amount of resources it's more that the fact that you're able to actually Keep those resources is where your inherent power is
It's a minecraft server, the second you log off all of your chests are free game, all your builds can be griefed or destroyed, it's the fact that Phil, Techno and Ranboo can live So far out of the way without having to rely on others to keep their shit safe while they're gone, and without worry that any of it will be stolen because their influence, skill and OP gear means no one would ever Attempt a burglary unless they're fully confident that they'll make it out alive (e.g. tommy, tubbo)
The rest of the server have their own ways of storage, making it a hassle to find, redstone doors, traps, requiring a riptide trident to go up floors, and people Actively fuck with these mechanisms that because they know they have a Much higher chance of surviving an angry Punz for stealing his blackstone floor than the bird man who can one shot you with a bow or the sleeping pigman right next to his chest of valuables or the half enderman teenager whos already giving half of it to his husband
Like it's not their fault they're rich it's not a fault at all, it's Fucking Minecraft, it's when As the ones who have and Can Keep the resources, they're at an undeniable advantage than the ones who keep getting their shit stolen
