headcanon: On Jakku Rey would talk to the stars sometimes because she had no one else to talk to. On Ach-to she find herself talking to these new stars, telling them about the boy who came into her life and opened her heart. The boy who came back for her when no one else had. The boy who she had to leave to come find Luke Skywalker. They boy who she worries about every second, hoping he’s okay.The boy she will see again. One day, she tells them, I’ll introduce him to you.
So they’re not naive born-yesterdays, but the reality is that Finn and Rey both spent much of their lives in places where luxuries and even things others consider commonplace were few or nonexistent. So Rey and Finn explore together!!
They discover sooooo many things. They fill their quarters with squishy pillows and blankets. They try fruits, and different dishes, and chocolate. They swap books. They have movie nights. Finn takes up drawing. They just revel in a life where they don’t always have to think conservatively, where they allow themselves to deserve things. It’s honestly the most precious thing ever.
There’s a big event after Rey is back from training with Luke and Finn is recovered, to comment the heroes for their service to the Resistance, and Poe helps Finn find some formal wear and then Rey comes out in a dress with her hair down for the first time in ages and Finn practically short-circuits.
Speaking of which, Rey adores when people play with her hair and often takes naps while Finn just runs his hands through the soft strands.
Finn has a really nice voice and when Rey has nightmares he just holds her and sings to calm her down
For Finn’s nightmares, Rey just tells him all the good memories she has, of flying the Falcon with him for the first time, and the joy she felt when they came back for her on Starkiller Base, and the first time she used the Force to move something, and the moment she realized she loved him
They are just so Pure and half of the Resistance is almost disgusted by how cute and in love and happy they are (Poe and General Organa definitely Do Not spend their meetings talking about it that would be so unprofessional what)

I can't stop thinking about that scene where Chewbacca saves Finn and Rey and I bet in the falcon even tho they were off SKB Rey was still so worried for Finn she's still crying a bit and holding and kissing his hand just hoping he's going to be okay
I feel like both Finn and Rey would love to be the big spoon/little spoon like they constantly alternate they just both love having their arms around the other person
firstly, fluffy headcanon for you (1/2): i'm taking rey's survival guide for what it is and saying that rey is a pretty good artist. her exploits across the galaxy as a jedi knight show her wondrous things she thought she’d never see, and she diligently captures all onto paper (still on actual paper, like the feral desert child she is). more often than not, her best friend finn co-stars in her sketches as in her adventures...
(2/2): rey never thinks she does him enough justice, cannot encapsulate what he is and what he means to her, but she’s stubborn. and as finn goes from best friend to something more with each passing day, the sketches of the wondrous things become him, just him, more often than not. (pretty wondrous on his own, she thinks.) i wonder how he’d feel if he found her drawings…
I FULLY, 100%, TOTALLY ACCEPT THIS HEADCANON. She does actually draw him in the survival guide too, now that I think about it; which makes this headcanon even more canon tbh, let’s be real here. This is KILLING ME. You have such a way with words, too, which makes your headcanons even more amazing because you just word it so beautifully? Idk, you just write really wonderfully, and it’s great :) I LOVE this. A lot. (As usual with your headcanons!:’))
Just to add to this, if you don’t mind…
What if when Finn becomes a Jedi too, and he joins her on her missions, it’s even better for her because he’s there with her so much of the time (it’s wonderful); she draws him all the time- And then he walks in when she’s drawing one day, and he’s like, “I didn’t know you drew!”, running towards her all enthusiastically with this big smile on her face that just makes her melt. and she’s sort of embarrassed and trying to hide the drawings because wOW she did not mean for him to see quite how many of her drawings are of him…But he sees them anyway and he just smiles so wide, and gets all emotional because she’s so talented, and she puts so much effort in to this; in to drawing him, in to making every detail important and capturing every one of his expressions. Rey tells him that she doesn’t think the drawings do him justice, though; that she’s been trying for so long to capture, in drawings, just how wonderful he is and how much he means to her. But then says that she’s recently realised that pencil and paper can’t quite do that. So she kisses him.
This is the greatest headcanon and I love it, thank you so much for sending me this :’)) it defs cheered me up!

Do you have any fluffy headcanons for finnrey? I'm new to the fandom so I haven't seen many yet :)
we’re small, but we are strong!! there aren’t that many exclusively finnrey blogs (to my knowledge) but a lot of people ship stormpilot and then finnrey as a kinda secondary ship (in that there’s less finnrey content than stormpilot, which is perfectly fine, it’s their blog!), so i would recommend checking some of those out as well, but the tag is also… less than stellar, mostly because The R#ylos™ like to spam it… but anyway, some fluff!
finn wears fuzzy bantha slippers to bed; rey loves them and tries to steal them (on that note, they wear each other’s clothes a lot, just around the house or their quarters — they’re around the same height, i think finn is maybe two inches taller?)
rey collects rocks and brings them back to show to finn
they have their own garden
they name their first child “han” and somewhere, in the depths of the force, han solo is screaming,
they give each other massages and shoulder rubs a lot as a way of affection — they do like kissing each other, but they’re also very tactile people with each other, both not having physical contact in their lives previously, and they’re both uncomfortable with kissing in public beyond a quick one on the cheek or the lips, so they hold hands instead
rey doesn’t shave her legs (or her arms, for that matter) so finn sometimes runs his hand up rey’s leg in the opposite way that the hair grows and it makes her all ticklish and giggly
finn has a large scar on his back from where he was sliced by kylo, and he does sometimes feel self conscious about it (both in the realm his bodily image and his mental state of being able to be an adept fighter), and so rey kisses him all over the back
canon (mostly rey’s jakku survival guide) says otherwise, but i headcanon rey as being at least partially illiterate, so finn helps teach her how to read and write, sometimes bragging a bit about how he was the first in his trooper class to be able to pronounce “coruscant” correctly
if their kid is in trouble, they’ll yell out their full name, “HAN DAMERON SKYWALKER, YOU PUT THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW!”
OK so Finnrey, who says ILY first and how does the other person react to it? Also other than the jacket, what kind of clothes do they like to see each other in?
i think finn would say it first, and it would take a little while for rey to realize it and it to sink in, because obviously finn loves her, he’s her best frie— oh. oh! i could also see rey saying it first and finn just smiling so hard and picking her up in a big hug and they’re both crying a bit and then they just hold each other
i think they both like seeing each other in resistance gear, something physical that shows that they belong to this organization that has become a family to them. rey also likes seeing finn in his general’s uniform once he becomes one, because you know he will, and finn likes seeing rey in her jedi getup. they share The Jacket™, with poe wearing it too, occasionally, perhaps on more dangerous missions for luck, and it’s a bit of nostalgia for both of them
