I’m not Isabella, but I’ve been trying to figure something out for Wolfie and his amazing mom whom I am very close with (irl) and this is what we’ve got.
I’ve been on Tumblr for 6 years and I’ve never made a post like this before, and I hope I never have to again. I had the pleasure of meeting Wolfie on November 10th and he seemed fine, but about a week later he started acting off. He was diagnosed with FIP on the 21st, (I’m posting this on the 23rd), and he is a huge sweetheart. The kind of cat that you would see in some garbage Hallmark movie, inexplicably saving Christmas with all the love and joy he brings others.
FIP is a mutated strain of an otherwise relatively harmless virus. It is fatal, and aside from identifying it, vets can only treat some symptoms—it’s not understood at all and it’s fast. Once symptoms start showing, life expectancy is generally less than a month. But there is basically a MIRACLE drug out there that hasn’t been approved for regular usage yet that can be bought for a lot of money.
