불타오르네 Jin is 🔥
Sorry, but I need to put it somewhere ~
It’ll be about one of my characters - Roma Barringer - and it’ll discuss her nature and that is what it means to be a djinn in the world I’ve created.
The most basic thing - giennies are elementals, a personification of a force of nature.
The first of elementals were born before the world was created, probably even before the dimensions stabilized entirely. They WERE the part of creation in the most basic way possible. At first there were only four, and they can be considered eldritch type of beings, with no ‘true’ form whatsoever, but in time they’ve split, more and more into the tinier parts of the first ones.
There’s no way to tell which one of the separate beings is the original one - they’re all the same. They share past, they share memories, even though they’ve developed individual personalities throughought the time. They can assume more human-like form but rarely do so.
Ginnies are elementals enslaved by magic. There are not many of them because the ritual necessary to bind one is unbelievably hard to perform, needs a powerful user of magic and cost... a lot. Not as much for some though, cause there were some successes in the matter.
There are four types of ginnies as there are four types of elementals, and each one have the power to grant wishes. Unlimited number of them, so you can see how it can be considered worth the trouble.
Djinn cannot ever break free on it’s own. Only the master’s wish can give them back their freedom - and since those are often blinded by their own greed it doesn’t happen often.
They have two forms - one of elemental and one of humanoid. They have no assigned gender whatsoever, but in the humanoid form can turn into whichever they like/were demanded to.
Roma is an Ifrit - a ginnie born of fire element. Her true form is the one of flame and shadow. In her humanoid body she often choses a femine look, though she doesn’t necesarily identify with any gender. Bound by magic hundreds of years ago she took many different forms and served under many masters - each murdered in cold blood by the succesor. The last one made her take the form of a woman he once loved and she stayed like this (more or less) since then.
She was freed by Raegan Ludwig Barringer a little over three hundred years ago. Some time later they’ve fallen in love. She granted him eternal life and the’ve been together ever since.
There was once fire and magic, A creature caught in a trap. Ancient, powerful, in the chains of gold That forced it to obedience
In captivity conceived from greed She lasted for centuries Bringing chaos at the Master's call.
It’s not great but I must say it sounds way better in my language. Even though it doesn’t really rhyme. It’s a kind of... bard’s tale, I guess? In-lore created by my celestial bard, Cregoria.
Pink Jin + Blond Jin = PerfectJin
Another one of my babies drawn by Senapi-desu, this time as a request.
It’s Roma Barringer and I love how happy she looks here, cause damn, she hadn’t had the reason to feel that way for a huge part of her life.
I see sun, I see warmth and the man who set her free standing in front of her. And she looks at him with all the love she has. Trully free, for the first time in her life, with no one to rule over her.
I love it so very much.
