My username is fireboy4591 and I want a in depth on the classpect lord of pent
Everyone, meet our first patron! Huge thanks for supporting us, @fireboy4591!
As promised, an in-depth crosspect analysis, courtesy of Yours Truly! Hope you like it!
Class: The Lord is the most active class in the game, and one of the two legendary “master” classes. Their class is described as “one who embodies their aspect.” Caliborn, the Lord of Time, is always wherever he wants to be, whenever he wants to be there; he’s “always already there.” This is because all of Time bends to his whim, twisting itself to serve his purposes.
Aspect: As the fusion of Breath, Rage, and Mind, pent combines the propensity for speech of Breath, the unbridled emotion of Rage, and the quiet detachment of Mind. It is the aspect of storing one’s emotions, of keeping destructive energies at bay, of protecting others from the horrifying potential stored within.
Personality: The Lord of Pent is an incredibly rare occurrence, as it requires a fusion between three Lords, one each of Breath, Rage, and Mind. When by some miracle it comes about, though, the Lord is a master of storing emotional baggage. No matter how often or how hard they are pushed, the Lord stays stone-cold and silent, no matter how they might rage on the inside. They can stay calm in any situation, a quality that makes them fearsome tacticians, even as their emotions drive their actions almost completely. Do not anger a Lord of Pent; they will dedicate their lives to making yours miserable, and you won’t even know it.
Moon: With a propensity for hiding their true feelings inside a cold exterior shell, the Lord of Pent is a model Dersite. They never show their true selves; never reveal their hand; never lose their temper. They are masters of deceit, and hate to confront situations head-on. While they may not be evil, they are certainly antagonistic.
Powers: The Lord of Pent has the ability to keep anyone from unleashing anything. Master diplomats, they can keep everyone in a room calm, unable to cause outbursts. Not only that, they can surpress any offensive technique, preventing any sort of direct attack from being launched at them or an ally.
Weapons: The Lord of Pent is perhaps the least likely person to carry a weapon of any class that isn’t directly pacifist in nature. Well, no, that’s inaccurate. They most likely have a weapon of EXTREME power that never gets fired. They instead use the fear generated by that weapon to keep potential threats at bay. Pachi pointed out that they’d probably take a liking to that motto of Theodore Roosevelt’s: “speak softly, and carry a big stick.” So… it’s probably a nuke or some other weapon of mass destruction.
Land: Crosspect lands have one aspect for each of their base aspects, plus one fusion aspect that acts as your “quest.” The exception to this is, of course, the Lord, as they usually find themselves playing a completely different game than the rest of the classes play. As the Lord of Pent, you play a game of pool similar to the one Caliborn plays; however, your minions are all based on a theme of “holding back,” in much the same way as the Felt is all based on Time. Stuff like erecting walls, forcing foes to run away, muting voices, and such. Your quest is the same as Caliborn’s, except that where he had an unreasonable time limit, you have an unreasonable handicap that only gets more restrictive as the game progresses. But as long as you keep your cool, and never lose sight of the main objective, your victory is assured!
Ultimately, the Lord of Pent is the perfect “guy in the chair,” planning events dozens of moves in advance for some incredible, unknowable, and usually surprisingly petty goal. With unrivaled power, the only thing keeping them from total domination is usually their very nature holding themselves back. Master your minions and keep your cool, and you’ll become one of the most dangerous forces in the multiverse!
