I personally don't really know much about RPs or DnD. But I started this little game thing with my little brother's to keep them entertained during a long drive. Thought that maybe someone with actual understanding of DnD/TTRPGs could use this as some sort of one shot.
It starts with the party already in the forest. They come into contact with a witch and some way/how the party gets turned into a bunch of frogs. (Little bros did that by fighting her, and she cursed them.) And then they make their way out of the forest and run into a father son duo. (They got yeeted during the fight and landed into the back yard of said duo.) The father would drop some lore and then help the party find the nearby town and the party would be able to get new supplies. (Brothers didn't convers. They were on a war path. Killed the father. The son, who turned out to be Arnold Schwarzenegger, vows to seek revenge and exits scene.)
Then the forest is pretty weird. With how far the boys got was: flowers with mouths that try to eat the frogs from first interaction. Berries, depending on the roll would have different effects from poisons or Hallucinations to healing or powers. The "suspiciously straight trees" were to be like some kind of limbo that could send the players different places. Could help move them to where they need to be or to make the adventure a little harder.
Then there was the water sources. The water depending on type of watery place would have effects. Pebbles would just heal. Ponds could heal but could grant randomized abilities if health was full. Bogs would be negative results for flaws and disadvantages. Swamps could give both good and bad results due to both witches and frogs residing in swamps.
Anyways this was the idea that was in my head, don't really know if this was actually interesting for a one-shot game but (/_;)/~~
Hope someone could use this for a good game. Let me know if this was a good idea. (I was winging it and using a 1 through 20 number random generator on my phone for this.)
