I miss my long hair and wandering through firefly with you :( @bobel24
Attend Firefly: June 18-June 21st, 2015
Instead of going to senior week (my parents didn’t really want me to go on an official senior week anyways) my friends, Dan, Kelly, Kelsey and Dan’s Cousin Liam decided to go to blow too much money at Firefly. Honestly, Firefly was one of the best experiences of my life and if you have time and the money to go, I would totally recommend going. Laying in the grass and just listening to random artists or finding your way back into the woods to find the small studio stage where smaller artists performed (or major artists performed stripped down songs) was all a worthwhile experience. I discovered so many new artists and made many new friends from all over. I even got to meet some artists like Halsey, Walk the Moon and Bastille!
While at Firefly, I saw (get ready for a list): The Kooks, Clean Bandit, Echosmith, Mother Mother, DJ Mustard, Cage the Elephant, Odesza, AWOLNATION, Manchester Orchestra, Chiddy Bang, Paul McCartney, Zedd, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, The Griswolds, Phoebe Ryan, Skylar Spence, Zella Day, Halsey, Betty Who, Matt & Kim, Cruisr, Foster the People, Dirty Heads, Foster the People, Cardiknox, Max Frost, Steve Aoki, Hozier, Bastille, Tove Lo and the Killers. Now, I didn’t exactly stay for everyone’s full set due to overlapping sets and times and walks to stages. I also didn’t know everyone I listened to (until I checked the schedule).
During Firefly, I went to the Silent Disco (the Thicket) and let me tell you, it was one of the coolest things ever. There were two battling DJs basically in the middle of the woods and you could switch between stations to get what you thought was the better music. Some people preferred one over the other but it was fun watching people and telling that they were listening to something different than you and immediately wanting to switch the station because of how much fun they were having.
Also, we had a terrible rain storm so Kings of Leon was canceled and I’m still a little bitter about it (they had another show in Las Vegas or something the next day so they couldn’t reschedule). The rain was actually so bad that they kicked everyone out of the festival area for safety reasons.
Every day, me and my friends would go to the Hammock Hangout and nap/enjoy the shade because there wasn’t much shade there and sleeping on the ground/in the car (we camped), wasn’t exactly the most comfortable thing in the world (especially with the amount of sunburn we all acquired early on in the experience).
Honestly, every part of me wants to be at some music festival always and firefly is one I wouldn’t mind staying at forever and ever.
(That was just a brief explanation about the wonderful adventure that was Firefly and I’m sure that I could’ve gone into more depth, explaining how every artist acted and how the crowd reacted and my favorite things to watch but I’ll save that for another time, maybe.)
Brandon: “Something like this where you can get out into nature, it’s sort of a uplifting and, for me anyway, like a revitalizing situation. I love being amongst the trees and the fields, so I’m excited about it.”
Ronnie: “He’s been getting pretty hippie lately, so, sorry about that.”
Brandon: “Yuk, yuk, yuk, yuk.”

Hey that was fun (at Firefly Music Festival)
Summer 2015 came to a close yesterday as the new school year started, so here are some disposable camera shots from Firefly Music Festival a couple months ago
