Two years ago this month we released Telemetry. When we showed up to play our record release show in Philadelphia, @smpoponi was setting up sound for the evening. He was helpful, professional, and we immediately appreciated his wry sense of humor. He told us we were nice guys, which - in his experience - translated that we were going to "suck" as a band. Steve's great skills as a sound engineer, however, rescued us that evening. As we were approaching recording for New Air we knew we wanted Steve to be a part of it. We spent time with Steve at his studio, @the_gradwell_house, last spring making this record. He was both insightful and helpful throughout the process. As we showed him our guitar parts for Vacant States, we asked Steve what he thought. He simply turned to us, smiled, and asked "do you think Mineral will mind?" Thanks Steve for everything.
