Somehow, it’s a week later and time didn’t stop. I didn’t know I had this video, and while I’m not 100% positive, I am fairly certain we’re waiting for Against Me! To play at Bo Diddly Plaza at #Fest16. I’ve back to that Fest a lot in the last week. She had just toured with @typesetterband and @againstme , I think she even made it to Riot Fest that year in Chicago, did Fest with @galacticsatan, @avicadoh and I, and then did War on Christmas? Anyway, reflecting on her life after that hurts. 2018 was rough for seemingly everyone involved and now we’re in April 2019 and some of us are still here and she’s not. We were so similar in so many ways and it was so comforting to know that someone else understood my crazy the way she did. #tbt to our first and second times playing @thefestfl, and looking forward to this year! @nervoustriggers are so beyond stoked to be coming back to #gainesville again. Tony and his amazing crew put on the best party of the year every year, and it is truly astounding to see both how huge it has become while simultaneously experiencing how personal and #diy it remains in spirit. When Tony booked us on #fest15, we had barely been a band for 6 months, and all we had was a handful of shows and a demo recorded in a New Brunswick basement under our belts (although @therealbronzino did a killer job on our demo, of course). Where so many fests that have been around a fraction of the time have gone corporate with booking or have a bunch of hoops to jump through, the Fest still feels like calling up your buddy to jump on a gig. Hell, to this day, there are some promoters and venues in our home state that we can't get an e-mail back from about booking a local show (or worse, they expect bands to sell pay-to-play tickets)! But Tony invited our little band to the biggest party of all from the beginning, and invited us back for #fest16 and now, #fest17, and for that we remain forever grateful! People like him and everybody that works and volunteers for the Fest are so kind and generous with their time, energy, and passion, they are exactly the kind of people you want to work with in #punk.
