New recruits getting a run down on correct door entry techniques before having a shot at it themselves. While it might come as a bit of a surprise to some, and blatantly obvious to others, the way you enter a building, house, factory or workshop when it is on fire can have a dramatic effect on the way the fire will develop, and how difficult a task you might have ahead of you. In the event that you get it wrong, things can go pear shaped in seconds. Co-ordination and communication between both firefighters (every BA crew is made up of two) is crucial to ensure both of them come back out safely, and to ensure that the tasks assigned to them by the incident controller can be carried out safely and efficiently. In door entry procedures, one firefighter attends to the opening and closing of the door, while the other firefighter takes control of the hose. Balancing gas cooling (applying fine water droplets to the hot gasses in a fire) and ventilation (by opening or closing the door) can be tricky for any firefighter, and requires teamwork from everybody tasked with the job of fire attack. #fire #fires #frnsw #firefighting #firefighter #firefighters #feuerwehr #feuerwehrfrau #feuerwehrmann #emergency #emergencyservices #firerescue #firerescuelife #fireXphotography #chiefmiller @firexphotography #breathingapparatus #firerecruit #firerecruits #cfbt #firescience
