‘ first day of spring. real spring. ’ cosmo starts with his arms extended, his fingers spread and thumbs perpendicular, like he’s half an identity crisis away from melting down to nothing, molding his raw materials into the vague shape of r.f. simpson, and framing his digits around the face of the studio’s next star. ‘ after all that waiting, it’s good and warm. cookouts, bonfires — you know the smell? ’
she’s in a three-legged race with cosmo’s nostalgia, carrying with her a perfect, whiffable trigger of his happiest memories from family brown’s midwestern suburban home.
‘ i don’t know where you’ve been, but you brought it in with you, ’ he says. he inhales with his chin up and his eyes shut, then slows his speech to match the mood. ‘ like heaven. ’
@fireslung, call.

The Cassandra
A person characterized by two things — she (or he) gives correct and accurate warnings and predictions, and what she says is consistently belittled or ignored by the rest of the cast. You would think that the other characters would eventually decide that she can be trusted, but they seldom do. A particularly cruel plot twist is for the rest of the cast to believe Cassandra on the one and only time she is wrong, just to maintain the status quo. Cassandra usually has some sort of personality quirk that makes her seem less believable.
Let me preface by saying Klaus absolutely bought this on himself. A lot of the Klaus tag on tumblr is people going on about how unfair it is that the others don’t listen to Klaus, but imo it’s absolutely a boy who cried wolf situation. Klaus says stupid shit for attention all the time, he acts out, he’s unreliable, he’s been high for over a decade and has never once been serious about getting clean, it makes sense that the others don’t believe him on the occasions he’s right. That said, the trope still fits. Five and Luther are sceptical about Klaus saying he talked to Reginald (I don’t have time for your games Klaus / okay I’ll bite, what did the old man have to say?) at the bowling ally they don’t believe that his powers have allowed him to manifest Ben, Five doesn’t believe that Klaus is getting clean and that his powers are growing, they refuse to believe that Klaus can be more than the lookout. Though it’s never explicitly stated in show it’s very much suggested that they don’t believe he’s been communicating with Ben’s ghost at all. Klaus is right about a lot of things, but no one believes him when he’s right. Although like I said at the end of the day he really has no one to blame but himself.

The elevator doors slide open and a girl with some sign he doesn’t care to read rushes past him. He’ll have to fire whatever unpaid intern let her sneak through the lobby. He steps around her into the elevator and presses the button for the tenth floor. She throws an arm in front of the doors, stopping them from closing.
He huffs out an annoyed sigh. Exasperated:
“Okay. Alright. Okay. What is this? What are you doing here? Is this a protest? Are you protesting me?”
He pulls out his best de niro impression (it’s not bad, it’s pretty good; it better be, he practices it every day--during slow phone conferences or when he’s hiding in his office letting constituent calls go to his secretary and interns--and he holds his conscience hostage while he does it):
“Are you protesting me?”
Back to the point.
“Listen. Get in ‘ere.” He gestures curtly for them to join him in the elevator. “Listen. You think some teenage girl with a homemade sign is going to change my mind?”
He makes a come on face.
He’s made his point. He can stop. But he’s on a role. He’s got one more good line in him.
“I’m not a flip flop. You’re not wearing me out on no beach, kid.”
@fireslung ! liked - so fast, so maybe, k.flay.
“ little did i know shit would get this gnarly, this quickly... i hardly had time to think. ”
“...Smart rabbit.” Annabeth’s arms cross over her chest as she examines the bunny, grey eyes finally flickering up to the opposing. Something was different about her, she could tell... But she couldn’t put her finger on it, which drove her crazy.
@fireslung ❤
“Has anyone ever thought about how Mothman must have once been Caterpillarboy?”
OH, TUMBLR.
“...Oh no, I HATE that.”
