Well Red if you wake at 3 am tonight (though I do hope you can sleep more) I invite you to think about what your favorite idiot think of your favorite group of idiots. What does vortex think of each of the Stunticons? And Mixmaster (cause I gotta throw in a random constructicon)

Vortex thinks Motormaster is a fucking embarrassment but he's really fun to rile up because he gets really mad so easily. "If Megatron wanted a bruiser with nothing in his head, couldn't he have just taken a bunch of those drones he sicced on the autobots back with us? who would even notice the difference"

Vortex thinks Drag Strip is also a fucking embarrassment but he's really fun to rile up because it's so easy to hurt his feelings while keeping him coming back for more because he takes backhanded compliments so personally. He's like a walking psychological 'poke me' box, it's funny as fuck.

Vortex thinks Dead End is kind of boring up until Dead End, sent by someone else, is like "[awkward smile] hello. you can um, send me away but um, so, um, uh, i was uh, talking, and, uh, someone told me you might have? uh???? snuff porn could i borrow some please ill give it back in an hour i just really want to see it PLEASE" and now Vortex is like vaguely fascinated. This fully comes from one fic I read (What You Wish For by Ultharkitty) and i am going to run with it and no one can stop me.

Vortex doesn't really like Wildrider because Wildrider is both a) annoying, b) hard to get a rise out of, and c) annoying. Did I mention that one? He gets on Vortex's last nerve. Wildrider is, like, not nearly as mean as Vortex but they're on some pretty similar drifts except it's actually harder to get under Wildrider's plating than it is to get under Vortex's. Vortex has a big obvious gaping weakness called 'loyalty coding' and it's funny (for a given value of funny) to get him to trip it, and Wildrider likes watching things break and fall. So they don't get along well. Vortex has plans for Wildrider.

Vortex thinks Breakdown is funny. He's just so easy to rile up and he doesn't even try to get Vortex back for it most of the time, he just freaks out and runs scared. It's great. 10/10 excellent chew toy, probably Vortex's favorite out of the five of them because he's so entertaining to play with literally all of the time. Plus he's actually got some kind of solid core under there? You'd think that it'd GET to him but he keeps bouncing back. (Which, of course, just makes it more fun to treat him like a bouncy ball by metaphorically hurling him into the nearest wall as hard as possible.)

Vortex thinks Mixmaster makes the good high-grade, which is very important to him. His favorite Constructicon is probably Hook but he actually plays nice with Mixmaster (or, like, at least nice-ish). Mixmaster may be kind of crazy but he is unfortunately for Vortex not stupid, so he finds this deeply suspicious and so does every single other Constructicon. very depressing for our favorite horrible helicopter because he just wants candy and booze and they're acting like he's here to scheme. awful :( terrible :( why would you think such horrible things of me :((

Ha ha. Funnily enough unlike in In the Time Allotted To You, Isurd isn't the Blatant Projection Character this time, I think I'm much closer to, like... Lanz or Noah, people outside of the conflict who are like :/ but don't really know how to get involved without making it worse so they just Manage and Hope To Not Get In The Way. I especially feel for Lanz, who gets to say point-blank to Eunie's face that she's not being the reasonable responsible DPS carry she thinks she's being. Too bad it goes in through one ear and out the other.

12: Which character do you have the least in common with?

Honestly, Taion has like fifty times the composure I would have in that situation. He gets such a rough deal and he's such a trooper about it.

I mean one summary of FDNH is "Eunie and Isurd get stranded on an island" so I guess you're going to have to wait to actually read it to find out lmao

thundercracker on the ask meme thing

First Impression: Meh. I do like him, but even with his IDW version, there’s just not a lot for him, and I wish there was. 5/10.

Impression Now: Probably a 7/10. I do still really like him, but I do wish that there was just more of him, maybe for him to even be in something really new, maybe even a main character.

Favorite Moment: Thundercracker telling Marrisa his story in the Christmas Special.

Idea For A Story: Maybe him just finding some more puppies and deciding to take care of these ones as well.

Unpopular Opinion: Don’t have one.

Favorite Relationship: Buster.

Favorite Headcanon: I don’t really know many of the Headcanons for him.

Motormaster

for Vortex, I think he thinks Vortex is a fucking creep and a fucking weirdo and every time he comes around Motormaster kind of wants to beat a new hole in him. This is not helped by the fact that Vortex also seems to want that, because it is very annoying. None of his teammates are painsluts, why is this stupid helicopter flirting with him every time Motormaster threatens to beat him to a goddamn pulp. help.

for Scavenger, Motormaster mostly sees him as an embarrassingly soft target. it isn't Motormaster's job to give him shit and he's not picking a fight with Scrapper, but every time Motormaster sees Scavenger he's just like "it would be so easy to make you cry" with a side order of "you are so pathetic I'm almost embarrassed you're a Decepticon." (He is fully unaware that my Scavenger kills people and keeps their corpses, but I don't think that that would, like, help.)

Drag Strip

for Vortex, he thinks of him as "hot but crazy". Unfortunately for Drag Strip, he also thinks of Wildrider as "hot but crazy" in the exact same sort of way. There are a few very important differences between the two of them and Drag Strip is not quite not aware of them so much as he just thinks he knows what he's in for. He thinks he can handle Vortex. He's wrong.

I don't actually think Drag Strip thinks much of anything about Scavenger. I headcanon the Constructicons largely keeping to themselves, and I can't see a reason Scavenger would've gone out of his way to to make friends with Drag Strip, nor a reason Drag Strip would've done that. He probably sees Scavenger sort of as set dressing, but the only Constructicons he really pays attention to are Long Haul and Bonecrusher (because they go on missions with him sometimes), Hook (because he's the medic and everyone knows him) and Scrapper (because he's in charge of the other three). Beyond that, though, I think Scavenger and Mixmaster kind of don't matter to him at all.

Wildrider

for Vortex, I think Wildrider is the only motherfucker on this team who is like "hm, that seems like a bad idea." Except this is Wildrider and he doesn't know what to do with a bad idea except drive straight at it and try to light it on fire, soooooooo, I think he finds Vortex kind of fascinating and when Vortex is like in his general vicinity he's not really sure what to do except go bother him because he just keeps being weird as hell and present and that's neat and now Wildrider is going to go talk to him. He's the only one who annoys Vortex more than Vortex annoys him and I love that for him. Every time Vortex makes a veiled threat Wildrider is just like ":D" and then Vortex literally can't follow through on it because there's loyalty coding on him preventing him from hurting other Decepticons but psychological warfare just doesn't do anything because Wildrider is not terribly proddable, his problems are extremely variable and the triggers just sort of bounce around or stop working on a dime for no reason and it is just so annoying!!! Wildrider is winning at this

I think that, like Drag Strip, Wildrider doesn't really have any thoughts on Scavenger. I also think that, unlike Drag Strip, Hook just fucking hates Wildrider on account of how he's the most annoying robot alive (/affectionate) and all the Constructicons as a result are kind of colder toward him, so Wildrider kind of doesn't like them back. It's not serious enough to be an issue, and by and large the other Stunties haven't even noticed, but Wildrider doesn't really get it so it pisses him off, since objectively the only ones he's ever actually talked back to are Hook and Scrapper and if someone talked back to Motormaster or Breakdown or something Wildrider wouldn't care.

Breakdown

for Vortex, I think he sets off all of Breakdown's paranoias all the time on purpose so Breakdown cannot fucking stand him, he thinks he's hugely suspicious and weird and that extends to his whole gestalt because Vortex can't just be doing it for fun, he's a huge creep and a freak and he is Watching Them and Breakdown is like at all times about two points of pressure away from literally just trying to kill him so he will stop doing whatever it is that Breakdown thinks he's doing. Motormaster regularly has to drag Breakdown home because Vortex said, like, "hello" in the mess hall and then winked at him and Breakdown immediately spiraled about it because he's already been prodded into shape and now he is just super easy to rile up.

I think Breakdown thinks Scavenger was alright, because he's also pretty quiet and avoided everyone else for the most part and Breakdown respects that. In general, I think he thinks the Constructicons are fine, with the possible exception of Hook, but he's got no interest in making friends.

Dead End

for Vortex... unfortunately for Dead End i think he totally has a deathwish of the horny variety and therefore this weird gray creep who's made it clear he fucking looooves killing and torturing people and he absolutely gets off on killing and torturing people is like a terrifying sexy anomaly that exists solely to taunt him because Vortex also loves not giving anyone what they want and also isn't allowed to kill Decepticons anyway. I think Dead End is afraid of Vortex and I think he also gets porn from Vortex because no one else is willing to own up to having snuff films and also share them on base. (I think plenty of others have them. But I do not believe they're sharing them. or talking about it.)

for Scavenger, like Drag Strip and Wildrider I don't think Dead End really has much by way of an opinion on him. He thinks Scavenger's collecting is kind of stupid, because Dead End doesn't collect anything, but later on when he gets a little more autonomy if I can find a way to make Motormaster chill I think he'll get it.

If you’re still answering these thoughts on the constructicons?

green (good color) and purple (good color) AND coherent color scheme (the only combiner that looks good combined) thereby meaning they win at Color

in terms of g1 construction and location, they make for one of the most interesting groups of characters period on account of the fact that they're like... mean engineers, on the Shoot Shoot Bang Bang side that is constructed as the enemy of the people who build things and more broadly the enemy of like "people who build things" (the Decepticons are posed as mostly a threat to factory workers and people who do blue-collar jobs). They also break the "schema" of Decepticons Are Shoot Shoot Bang Bang guys and Autobots Are Normal that G1 poses every now and then, since they're... not. Outside Bonecrusher and Long Haul, they dont even usually want to fight. I really like that, I am looking directly at it

As a team, they're also really cohesive for a Decepticon group. The other Decepticon combiners are, uh... [looks between Menasor, Bruticus, and Abominus] not very good at that. Again, it makes them interesting! I wish we got more stuff focusing on how they work with each other because I just find them really interesting

they're cool in idw2005. I really liked them in Phase 1 and Phase 2 both. I just thought they were fun.
