The past couple of weeks have been awesome, but extremely challenging for a number of reasons. In both my professional and personal life I have learned new things about myself and those around me that I either didn't know or neglected to know for whatever reason. That being said, I am SO STOKED to finally be assigned a classroom (almost), and get to know my students and teachers-helping them both as best as possible. Furthermore, I realized tonight that I had kind of gotten away from God and his purpose for me down here. It's so easy to be distracted by circumstance and lose sight of the "wonderfulness" (for lack of a better word) that God has for our lives. So very easy. The important thing to do when this happens is to take a step back and reconnect. Hosea 12.6 says it perfectly, "What are you waiting for? Return to your God! Commit yourself in love, in justice! Wait for your God, and don't give up on him--ever!" Even when it seems he's not there. Even when you think you've dinesen too much wrong to ever be right again. Evennn...when you make the same mistake you've been making for the past...10 years... Get back to him! He wants you there. Too often we let our slip ups, really our human nature, get in the way of one simple truth: God loves us. Yesterday, today and forever. That'll never change. As Hosea puts it in 14.9, "If you want to live well, make sure you understand all of this. If you know what's good for you, you'll learn this inside and out. GOD'S PATH GETS YOU WHERE YOU WANT TO GO. Right living people walk them easily, wrong living people are always tripping and stumbling." I'm trying to stay on the path he has for me. It's not always easy, and admittedly I stumble sometimes and trip, but I always get back on that path of righteousness as soon as possible. Remember this and LYP :)
