This is Chitragupt, an OC of mine based on a god by the same name, from my WIP Patal Inc Pvt Ltd.
Some design notes:
The premise of this story is what if the Hindu Hell had a front as a multinational corporation based in Kolkata, called Patal Inc Pvt Ltd. Chitragupt is the COO of Patal Inc.
The god Chitragupt, is the god of scribes and recordkeeping. While he isn't the one who passes the final judgement on souls, he is responsible for archival of all deeds every living being has committed ever. I imagine that must be tiring.
Chitragupt in my story is also a god but also extremely burnt out and exhausted at all times. And when I first listened to Ong Bong Chhong, it immediately made me think of him. The lyrics fit very well!!
The text reads 'Bolo Hari Hari Bol', which is something people say while carrying a dead body to cremation grounds. 'Hari' is a name for Vishnu and chanting Hari's name makes a soul go to Heaven. Well, for Chitragupt, that's just more paperwork.
