#first fursuit head

I’m working on my first fursuit head!! It is of my fursona, Chirp. At the moment I’m waiting on the eye blanks and fabric swatches for it so I can order the fabric, attach the eyebrows, and start patterning.

Hey, people with fursuiting experience, mind hitting me up? I’ve got a few questions, and I’m not sure exactly where to start. Most tutorials are focused on canines or felines, that I can find anyways, and...I’m looking for another animal, which I can’t seem to find a tutorial for, and that I’m finding a -ton- of different ways to do the anatomy for the examples I can find.

I got my eye blanks on Monday and they look great!!! Who knew things look less weird without empty pits for eyes. Here are the eye blanks I purchased. (hyperfixation infodump below the cut)

I have bought the eye mesh and it'll probably arrive in the next week or two. I have decided to go with the sponge and acrylic paint method of coloring them as I already have the right colors of paint and I have plenty of leftover foam to use as a sponge. Along with the eye blanks, I also bought a "Chirp!" keychain from the same store. It wasn't custom or anything, they just have keychains of animal noises (woof, meow, squeak, etc.) and I thought it was funny so I got one. Anyways, the mesh I got is white on one side and black on the other, so it'll be easy to paint and I won't have to paint one side black myself. I haven't been able to buy the fur yet, I'm hoping I'll be able to soon so I can make the hand paws and pattern the head. Overall, I want to get the head, hand paws, and tail done by October so I don't have to rush to get it done for Halloween.
