“Alex, sugar,” Ellen says, voice carefully controlled, “maybe you should have led with the fact that you kidnapped the Prince of Wales.”

Alex and Henry have been in a secret relationship for two years (coming up on their third) when the news breaks: Prince Henry has fallen severely ill and the royal family asks for privacy and prayers from the public while he recuperates in a private hospital.

Something was wrong. Very very wrong. One moment Alex and Henry were talking about his omega's awful family and the next Henry became placid and compliant to their every wishes.
Something was wrong. And Alex was going to get to the bottom of it.

“You slept with him and then left?” June snaps, sitting up straight on the couch.

Do y'all think when Alex and Henry get married they do the smashing of cake in eachothers faces or do you think they are advised not to do that and so don't do it?
I'm currently reading the cutest (to me) fanfic of Alex and Henry. Alex is sick because (in the fic) his two year old duaghter brought the flu with her from nursery and Henry came over and took care of him and his daughter and Alex said. "I have distinct memories of being fed soup that was not burnt." And the Henry being the cutie he is said. "I've been practicing!"

Henry's struggling with remembering a song and Alex tries to help.

Getting a piano had been one of Henry’s top priorities when moving to New York and Alex loved that he had so many ideas on the things that he wanted in his first place (or their first place) out on their own.
He also loves coming home from school to the sounds of Henry playing the piano flowing through the air. Sometimes he hears music he recognizes. Henry had spent so much of his childhood learning the masterpieces that he knows them by heart, but of late, Henry’s been experimenting with creating his own music.
As with almost everything that Henry does, he’s extremely talented at it, so it’s a bit of a surprise when Alex enters the brownstone to hear a few bars of a song before a misstep and a groan.
“Christ, I just can’t...”
Henry’s voice trails off as he begins again, this time getting a little farther before hitting a couple of wrong notes and groaning, again.
Intrigued, Alex makes his way up the stairs, greeted by David in the hallway, his tail wagging all excitedly as he always does when Alex gets home. He can’t resist stopping and playing with his floppy ears as he tells him what a good boy he is.
He could easily talk to David for a while, but he hears: “Oh, for Christ’s sake,” and figures that Henry may need him more considering that his efforts today seem to be a bit of a struggle.
So, Alex gives David one last pat on the head before he follows the tones of the piano and Henry’s complaints down the hall to their music room.
The door is open, so he stops and leans in the doorway, watching Henry as he focuses on the keys. The music is unfamiliar, but lovely until he misses a key and huffs, annoyed.
“Why can’t I get this?” Henry mutters to himself, but Alex offers, “Maybe you need a break, baby.”
Henry looks up surprised. “Alex, you’re home?”
Alex chuckles, slightly. “Same time as yesterday, I’ve been doing better about coming home on time.”
Henry nods. “Yes, yes, of course, I just hadn’t realized how late it was. I planned to try to make dinner.”
Alex gives him a soft smile as he moves next to him, setting on the bent and nudging him. “Maybe we could try playing together for a while instead?”
“Thought you never played music before?”
“I haven’t,” Alex retorts with a smile. “That’s why this will be so fun and maybe it’ll help you figure out some of the issues you’re having with your song to teach me?”
Henry frowns, thoughtfully. “I suppose that could work.”
“Good,” Alex offers, kissing his cheek. “Then, teach me.”
“Gladly.”
***
While teaching Alex had been quite helpful. Henry still felt a little bit stuck on his song.
He knew that the song was something that his mother used to be play when he was younger, and though he had reached out to her, she couldn’t remember it. So, instead, he has a bit of an earworm that isn’t helping him figure out where exactly he should go with it just yet.
He knows what he’s been trying hasn’t been working, but he’s at a loss as to where it should go. He can’t figure out why the song just isn’t coming together.
“Oh, baby,” Alex says, softly when he finds Henry with his face in his hands. He walks behind him at the piano and rubs his shoulders a bit. “I thought this was meant to be fun for you rather than stressful.”
“It is, typically,” Henry replies, as Alex slides his hands from shoulders down his chest. A half-hug around his neck with Alex still standing while Henry sits at the piano. “It just – I have a bit of an earworm, and I can’t quite wiggle it free.”
“Maybe you should try playing something else for bit?”
Henry shrugs. “I don’t know if that will help.”
Alex hums as he shifts to sit beside him. “What if I played you something? It’s gonna suck, but maybe it will wiggle it free?”
“I suppose it doesn’t hurt to try.”
“Good.”
***
It doesn’t work.
Despite Alex’s best efforts, Henry continues to be a little more than annoyed at not being able to remember the song, so by the time a week passes, Alex is a little more weary when he hears music as he enters the brownstone after classes.
He suspects that he’s still determinedly trying to figure out the song to no avail, but he’s a good boyfriend, so he follows the sounds of music up the stairs to their music room to find a surprisingly happy looking Henry.
He’s dancing as he plays the song on the piano, looking like maybe he might’ve figured it out.
“Someone’s happy?” Alex prompts when he appears to have finished the song.
Henry looks up and grins, eyes bright and gleeful.
“I’ve figured it out, love,” Henry says as he reaches out a hand to pull Alex close to him. He doesn’t resist, letting himself slide onto the bench beside Henry. “Listen.”
He starts the song, again, not missing a note even as he smiles and dances. Alex doesn’t recognize the song, but Henry is grinning and dancing and it’s good. He may not have known it before, but he loves it purely for the way that it makes Henry happy like this.
So, he smiles and dances along, nodding his head to the beat and enjoying this moment with Henry, the love of his life, and the one person in the world that deserves all of the happiness in the world.
It’s absolutely perfect as the song ends and he leans into Henry, giving him a sweet kiss.
“Perfect, baby, absolutely the best song ever.”
Henry laughs. “It probably isn’t, but I do enjoy it, and I am so happy that I finally figured out my earworm.”
“Me too,” Alex agrees. “Play it again?”
“Absolutely. I’ll play it all night long if you want me, too.”
Henry realizes that he only thought he'd fallen in love with Alex at the Olympics, the truth is that he's never known the true depths of love he could have for him until the live together.

There’s a part of Henry that never truly believed that he would get to see this side of Alex. All those fantasies about getting to be with him out in public as boyfriends and getting to live together as a couple could never truly prepare him for life in New York with Alex.
It’s not just getting to enjoy the fun of having his boyfriend around all the time. It’s not just the peace of not having people around all the time cleaning and organizing and not really allowing for privacy. It’s not just the fun of learning new things about each other as they learn how to clean and take care of each other.
It’s getting to see Alex while he’s in the zone.
Getting to know Alex on an even deeper level that he hasn’t gotten to see before.
Henry thought he fell in love with Alex at first sight. That he could learn everything he needed to know to be in love with him from afar, but he was wrong.
And now?
Now, after over a year of sexcapades and pretending he wasn’t in love with him, only for Alex to fight for him and for them to be forced out of the closet, for them to finally get to be together – live together in relative peace, he realizes he’s only really just begun to reach the depths of falling in love with this man.
This man of his dreams for years – the one he thought he fell in love with years ago – he’s finally truly fallen in love with him.
Even when he’s in the zone and doesn’t even notice when Henry drops a kiss his forehead when he checks on him.
It’s something that he finds adorably cute.
***
Alex knows that living with him isn’t exactly easy (or so he’s been told). He’d been nervous about Henry getting to see him in his super absorbed into his work and ignoring him or letting him down. So, he tries to make sure that he thinks about Henry.
Which is why he always makes sure that he’s paying attention to Henry, too. This is why he notices Henry’s little habit of kissing his forehead whenever he’s working on something – studying, usually – even when he’s not necessarily in the zone.
It’s also why he decides to copy him when he finds him so engrossed in his book in their little library and kisses his forehead as he passes by on his way to get more coffee.
He sees Henry glance up at him from the kitchen, and Alex winks at him, giving him a smile, and Henry smiles back, taking his hand to his lips and blowing him a kiss before turning back to his book like nothing even happened.
He has to go back to studying anyway, so it works it out.
***
It’s become a thing.
Any time one of them is so engrossed in their work – studying, reading, what have you – the other will randomly check up on them and kiss them on the forehead and then keep going.
It’s a nice little habit of theirs that Alex has deeply come to love.
So, he misses it when Henry’s away for some princely duty.
He knows that they can’t just pretend that neither of them has a role to play, but it doesn’t stop him from missing his boyfriend and his forehead kisses.
At least it won’t be too long before Henry’s returned to him, but as he flips through case studies, trying to read through them and not pine away for Henry, he can’t help missing him.
Soon, he promises himself, soon he’ll be home.
***
It’s late when Henry makes it home, but he’d rather get home tonight and be able to spend the night with Alex than wait another day without him when he doesn’t have to.
So, he shuffles through the door, quietly.
He doesn’t turn on a light as he toes off his shoes and leaves his suitcase in the entryway. Divulged of his outer coat, he heads upstairs in his stocking feet.
At first, he thinks that he’d likely find Alex in bed, sound asleep, but the light coming from Alex’s office tells him that he’s probably still working.
So, he makes his way down the hall towards the office, quietly.
He doesn’t hear the sounds of David, but he’s not surprised when he nudges open the office door to find him laying at Alex’s feet, Alex himself passed out over his books, his glasses eskew.
David’s head pops up blinking tiredly, but quick to wag his tail and move towards Henry when he realizes that Henry’s home.
Henry squats down to greet him, telling him all about how he’s such a good dog, but keeping his voice low as to not jar Alex too much.
He knows that he’ll have to wake him to bring him to bed, but he’s loathed to do it. It sucks to be woken up like this.
Still, he leans down and presses a kiss to his head before he whispers, “Alex, love, you’ll be much more comfortable in bed.”
Alex groans and doesn’t open his eyes. “Don’t wanna move.”
“You’ll regret it in the morning if you sleep hunched over like this,” Henry replies. “Come on, love, just a few minutes, and I’ll help you into bed.”
Alex hums, blinking a few times. “Baby? You’re here?”
Henry hums as he helps him up since he’s a bit groggy, he lets him take the lead as they go towards their bedroom. He’s clearly exhausted.
It doesn’t take much effort to get to their bed and help Alex into bed. He hums pleasantly as Henry tucks him into bed and kisses his forehead.
“Baby…” he groans as he reaches out sleepily as Henry moves away.
“I’m just getting ready for bed; I’ll join you soon.”
Alex hums. “You better.”
Henry smiles softly at him, but he hasn’t opened his eyes, so he can’t see him.
He makes quick work of getting ready for bed before he joins Alex in bed. He’s quick to sleepily shuffle over to him, throwing an arm around him in a sleepy hug.
Henry smiles and kisses the top of his head.
“Good night, love.”
“Hmmm… night, baby.”
And with that, they fall asleep, happy to be together, again.

Summary:
Alex and Henry give their daughter the best present ever for her birthday.
AO3
***
One of Alex’s favorite things about moving to Texas and raising their girls in the Texas sunshine is the way that the sun shines in their hair. Like Henry, their oldest has blonde hair that shines in the sun. So, as he hugs their youngest close on his lap, entertaining her with various little toys, he can’t resist smiling at the two of them as they go running through the sprinklers.
It's one of their daughter’s favorite things – anything to do with water is a favorite activity.
Alex can admit that he quite enjoys looking at a wet Henry with the sunshine bearing down on him and the way he glows in a way.
It’s pretty hot.
He smiles as their daughter goes running to Henry unexpectantly, but he catches her as she jumps into his arms and spins her around. The way flies off of them with the sunshine and happiness on their faces being one of the best things he sees every day and he loves it.
He loves watching Henry be an excellent dad, almost as much as he knows Henry loves seeing him as a good dad.
She says something to Henry, and he hears, “Go ask your dad.”
“Okay!” She yells, happily as he sets her on the feet.
She spins around and comes running to him, dodging toys in the grass and looking unbelievably adorable with her wet hair in braids and a brilliant smile on her face.
“Daddy, daddy! Can I get a pony?” she asks, wide and pleading. “Please.”
Alex looks up from her to Henry. They had horses, largely because they both loved horses, and completely intended to surprise her with her own horse (pony) when she turned six and she turns six in just over a week. He’s not really sure why Henry’s putting the question on him when they both agreed to buy her the pony for her birthday.
“I don’t know, Mija, have you been good this year?” Alex teases, playfully.
“Daddy says I’m the bestest little girl ever and that I totally deserve a pony,” she says, blinking up at him with bright blue eyes like Henry that Alex couldn’t say no to even if he didn’t plan to give her one soon.
“Well, if Daddy says it than it must be true,” Alex teases, winking up at Henry, who is walking their way, a wet dream come true. It’s only too bad that it’ll be a while before the girls go to bed.
“I can, then?” she asks, hopefully.
“I suppose so.”
“Yay!”
She runs over to Henry and says, “Hear that, Daddy? Daddy said I could get one.”
“Well, of course he did! All the bestest princesses get one,” Henry teases, smiling brightly.
Alex laughs. She is technically a princess, but she’s more their little princess than a princess of England. Largely because they prefer their much more normal life over being royalty.
“Can we go now to get the pony?” she asks, hopefully.
“No, now, we should head in, get cleaned up, and get some food, you can wait until your birthday,” Henry states.
“But it’s only a week!”
“Exactly, just a week more and you can wait for him.”
She looks a little disappointed, but she’s a trooper and always happy. “Okay!”
She runs off inside and Alex laughs as Henry chases after her, determined not to have their little princess get into any trouble (but she’s their kid, so, naturally, she will). Especially since she’s getting the floors all wet without a towel.
It’ll make a mess, but that’s just a part of parenting life.
***
After the girls are asleep, Alex and Henry sit cuddled up on the couch. Happy and content, their life everything that they ever wanted and never dreamed that they’d actually get to have.
“Well, it’s a good thing we decided to get her a horse for her birthday,” Henry offers, kissing the side of Alex’s head. “I know you argued that it was a bit too spoiled princess, but every princess needs a steed.”
“Uh-huh, I’m not teaching her to ride side-saddled, though. I don’t care what royal decorum demands,” Alex retorts. “And it most definitely is a bit too much of spoiled princess, but she is pretty good, so I’ll let it slide.”
“Good.”
He leans over and kisses his cheek. He’d love to have more fun, but he knows Henry’s exhausted from chasing their almost six-year-old around the yard through the water.
But cuddling is just as good these days.
***
Despite some apprehension at giving their six-year-old a pony, Alex can’t help but admit that he adores the way she squeals so happily at seeing the chestnut pony being brought out from the stables.
“Oh, Daddy, can I ride him?” she asks, already dressed in riding gear since they anticipated that she’d want to take him for a ride as soon as she met him.
“Of course you can,” Alex offers as Henry leads him to where they’re standing. He’s already got a saddle on him. “You remember how we practiced getting on him?”
“Yeah!”
He holds the horse as she attempts to get on him, but it’s pretty clear that she’s not quite ready to do it on her own, which they expected. So, he helps her up.
He loves the way the sunshine dances on her long blonde hair that is sticking out under her helmet.
He steps away, and let’s Henry lead with the reigns.
They don’t intend to let her ride without one of them around, but the utterly glee on her face at having her own pony brings a brilliant smile to his face as he picks up their younger daughter.
“You see that, Mija? That’ll be you someday.”
She waves and giggles, which is about all she can do right now, but Alex still can’t help grinning. He helps her do little cheers for her sister, and he can see Henry laughing at the utter cuteness of their daughters.
It’s everything that he could never imagine years ago, and it’s definitely nothing Henry’s ever been able to imagine.
Not until he met Alex.
And there’s nothing better than finally getting a happily ever after that they deserve.
Henry and Alex managed to find cute ways to show their love.
Ao3
***
One of Henry’s favorite things about Alex since they started living together is that he loves leaving little sticky love notes everywhere around their home with little hearts and assurances of just how much he loves him.
Sometimes, Henry goes to sleep knowing that there aren’t any stinky notes anywhere only to wake up in the middle of the night to find random sticky notes with little messages such as thoughts of me keeping you awake, baby and just know I’m dreaming of you.
Each little note surrounded with cute little hearts.
It’s adorably romantic, and Henry loves it.
And… maybe there’s a part of him that wants to return the favor… he wants Alex to feel his love, too, after all.
***
Alex can’t help laughing as he opens the lunch Henry made for him. He’s been trying to make sure that Alex is eating more, especially because he knows that he doesn’t always think about eating when he’s off busy studying and looking through cases for law school.
Alex will always appreciate the love and care Henry puts into this for him.
Lately, though, he’s taken to adding those cute little candy hearts with words on them into his lunch as if to leave him a note.
They get all jumbled in the bag, but they’re all small similar messages anyway.
Best Date and Cutie pie together.
I luv you and Sweet Pea together.
Be mine and kiss me together.
And so on.
Alex loves that Henry’s finding his own way to show how much he loves Alex because he knows that his sticky notes with hearts make Henry all a flutter. It’s cute and adorable and he loves him so unbelievably much.
Despite the chaos of what happened around the election, Alex will never not be grateful for how they got here – together and in love for hopefully forever.
And there’s nothing better than that.
***
Henry’s always happy when Alex comes home on time.
It’s a good sign.
Especially when he’s got that look in his eyes.
A look of undeniable desire for Henry that Henry’s come to love, and it doesn’t even take more than thirty seconds from when Alex locks his eyes on Henry for him to be pushed up against the wall and kissed within an inch of his life.
He’s not complaining.
He loves the taste of coffee and the candy hearts that he’d put into Alex’s lunch today.
He found some dirty candy hearts that actually read fuck me and wink wink in addition to the more innocent sayings on the candy hearts and he just knew that it would get Alex all riled up (truthfully, he’d been counting on it).
He’d been thinking of nothing else but Alex’s dick and Alex’s reaction to his little message.
He revels in his attention, melting into the kiss, enjoying the way Alex’s hands deftly unbutton his shirt and undoes his trousers.
Alex is kissing his way down Henry’s chest before he can even catch his breath. Panting, he looks down at Alex on his knees, blinking up at him with a smirk on his face.
He kisses the tip and then swirls his tongue. He’s long since learned just what Henry likes in a blowjob and his already talented mouth has only got better with each blowjob. Especially as he dips into Henry’s handy-dandy travel lube that he carries around in his pocket.
He breaks his efforts just as gets Henry close to put some lube on his fingers and engage his hands to prep Henry, clearly intending to get him off before he fucks him as the candy heart asked him to.
Henry moans, he loves the feeling of the cool lube as Alex slowly sinks his finger into his ass, wiggling it against that special spot inside that has him clenching at Alex’s hair, wanting something to hold on to. Something to ground him.
Alex hums, clearly delighted at the sounds he’s making. He continues to bob and swirl his tongue, wanting to bring Henry over the edge.
Henry feels the tightness that comes with falling over the edge and moans, loudly.
It takes a second for him to catch his breath. He runs a hand through Alex’s hair, looking down at him gleefully lapping up the cum.
He hauls him to his feet. Kissing him, deeply, enjoy the taste of himself on Alex’s lips until they’re both more than a little breathless.
“Over the couch or upstairs?” Alex questions once they’ve both been satisfied with kisses.
“Couch, I think,” Henry offers. “Wanna spend tomorrow while you’re at school blushing at the thoughts of what happened here.”
“Fuck, baby, that’s so hot,” Alex groans.
He gives him a quick kiss before he man-handles over to the couch.
Henry hears him fall to his knees and is only confused for just a second before he feels that delightful tongue swirling his hole with his fingers.
“Alex,” he groans. He’s already come, and he really wants to feel Alex’s dick in his arse. “Please.”
“Just prepping you, baby,” Alex offers, but it’s clear from his tone that he’s enjoying teasing Henry. He loves teasing Henry whenever he gets the chance.
And Henry? Well, he loves that, too.
***
They’re both panting, cuddled up on the couch, naked aside from the blanket surrounding them.
Alex prided himself on getting Henry off twice, and reaches for his bag, offering him of those candy sweethearts that got him all riled up.
Henry laughs. “Never thought something as simple as a candy heart could lead to such fun.”
“You should know better than that, baby,” Alex teases, kissing the top of his head. “By now, we can find any reason to have fun together.”
“Definitely, true, but now I know that I could just sneak in some dirty candy hearts to get what I want.”
Alex loves the way he’s looking at him, like he’s the one thing he wants more than anything else. The warmth that spreads through his stomach has him kissing him lightly.
