Chapter 3

Summary:

Dorian looked back at the Herald, who was now suddenly very focused, likely trying to distract himself from Dorian’s endless charm, and decided to keep pestering him. “I could never corrupt our holy Heral—mmmhhh!!!” the Tevinter protested when a hand clamped over his mouth and Trevelyan suddenly pinned him against a tree.

The Tevinter couldn’t help but laugh. He hadn’t seen that coming.

The Inquisitor didn’t say a word, just brought a finger to his lips, signaling for silence, then looked around with a furrowed brow, clearly concentrating. With the proximity, the mage noticed the Herald’s armor smelled faintly of rosemary.

The abrupt move left Dorian completely still, eager to see what would happen next. Was it going to happen out here, in the woods? He was shocked, but certainly wouldn’t say no.

But the Herald was serious. Far too serious.

Wait.

This wasn’t a carnal advance. They were in danger.

Well, that was still thrilling in its own way.

Suddenly, Dorian understood why the warrior was being quiet. He first heard the sound of heavy footsteps approaching, and then finally saw it.

Oh yes. Excitement guaranteed.

It was a bear.

When the Camp Sleeps...

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this one... I think the lighting is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. I am very proud of my little embers, though! That was legitimately a lot of fun to paint. Idk, something feels off. Maybe it's the character's anatomy, maybe the pose is too stiff? Constructive criticism from my fellow artists and art enthusiasts is greatly appreciated! Full below:
