Headcanon | Personality

Liam is shameless and absolute and unapologetic in who he is and the life he lived. Despite what anyone might think of him, he stands by everything that defines who he is; his likes/dislikes and interests, his preference for personal privacy, his straight-forwardness, disinterest in being the center of attention, or happy to be a follower to the right leader.

He is who he is, and while personal growth and change does happen, it’s at his doing and not because someone doesn’t approve of something about him.

The one thing about himself that he doesn’t like is his illiteracy.

Heacanon | Lingo

Primarily for modern based verses

Because his biological parents were English, along with his adoptive father, Nemo, Liam uses random bits of British lingo despite growing up in the States.

The only phrase he uses regularly is mate, but he rarely holds a conversation with someone without using a few others throughout. When he gets angry or frustrated, though, he tends to use British lingo a lot more.

Headcanon | Baking

While Liam can cook (his skills vary depending on the verse), he absolutely cannot bake to save his life. Anything that he attempts to bake will come out 85% a disaster, if not more so.

Headcanon | Travel

No matter the verse, or the point in his timeline, Liam will always have the need to travel. Whether it’s comfortably settled into a new home after Nemo’s adopted him, or he’s found himself a romantic partner that he’s devoted to with a life they’ve built together, or in college, that pull to just get up and go will never leave him.

It’s not him running from the life he has, but the innate part of him that has become used to the constant moving from his childhood & teenhood that will never leave him be. Travelling & moving around will never not be a part of him, but he will always return home in the end.

Headcanon | Brennan

Unlike his older brothers, Liam has, and will, always loved his father. And he refuses to let anything taint that. He isn’t naive enough to ignore what happened between Brennan and his brothers, and full acknowledges the truth, but he will argue that the man that raised him is not the same man that raised them.

Because of this, any time that Brennan is brought up in conversation and there’s any hint of negativity towards the man’s memory, Liam will leave. He won’t make a scene out of it, nor will he hide it; he’ll simply get up and walk away without so much as a word.

A lot of it has to do with his and Killian’s history. While the two of them have come to an understanding and he no longer wants to get his revenge on Killian for killing Brennan, it is still very much a sore spot for Liam. It doesn’t control him anymore, but it’s something he’ll never completely forgive his brother for, either. So Liam’s way of dealing with that is by not talking about their father beyond explaining to a third party that they have the same one.

It might not be healthy, but it’s the only way he knows how to deal with knowing that his brothers hate their father just as much as he loves him.

Headcanon | ‘Killian’s Brother’

Liam hates it whenever some admits to doing this or that because he’s Killian’s brother. Who he is, is in no way defined by his relationship with his older brother, and it feels like people are brushing off who he is for the sake of appeasing Killian in some way (no matter what their reasoning might actually be), and not actually caring who he is.

Headcanon | Middle Name

Unlike his older brothers, Liam was saved from their mother’s preferred choice in unique middle names. Liam’s middle name is simply MATTHEW.
