I love drawing my favorite found family team so bad ugh I love each and every one of them 🥹

Most of the flags here are obvious, but there's a couple more subtle references to flags too. Can you catch them? :]c

Sonia and Ray are both bisexual, Sonia having a preference for men and Ray being more outward about his affection for women. Sonia isn't afraid to date anyone of any gender—she's only afraid of Yaksha scaring them off 😭 Meanwhile Ray is a little more self-conscious about the idea of dating men. He's identified as trans for years and is VERY happy with the man he's become! He just worries how dating a man could make him feel about himself. These two may have their own struggles when it comes to relationships (queer or not), but their bisexuality is one thing they share in common with each other. One thing they can support each other in! :}

Lin Chung eventually discovers he is asexual. It took him time to find out since he never prioritized or pursued any romantic relationships for most of his life. It was only after Sonia began to pry about his dating life did he start realize (with her help, of course). He feels he may be queer in other ways due to his deep appreciation for men, but isn't sure whether he likes women and people of other genders or not. Lin Chung also feels slightly apathetic toward gender and doesn't quite get the gender roles others clutch onto so tightly. Romance, sexuality, and gender are all slightly confusing for him, but he isn't in a rush to label himself 💜

Anddd Jumpy & Mr. No Hands are both allies. Animals in Hidden Kingdom have different perspectives on gender identity, roles, and expression, so animals often won't subscribe to what is considered normal for humans (and animals may not fully identify with human labels, either!)

That said, Jumpy is cishet by HUMAN standards, but he would become slightly interested in fashion, make-up, and drag due to Sonia! He has a purple crown to represent the drag flag as a result.

As for No Hands? He doesn't know a whole lot about queerness, but he has a very supportive spirit. And he does know a few things about being transgender, having around Ray (and Rattle Diva, but that's a different conversation...) for years!

That's my headcanons I like to apply for most situations and aus! If you ever see me draw/write something that contradicts any of this, know that I only consider these headcanons my default. I won't restrain myself from experimenting with other dynamics sometimes >:]c

I wonder if there are any of you who have seen the anime “First Squad - the Moment of Truth”?

This is a joint project of Russia (written by Mikhail Shprits and Aljosha Klimov) and Japanese Studio 4*C (directed by Ashino Yoshiharu). It's quite an interesting story in my opinion, a bit naive, but dramatic, thrilling and dynamic.
