I only say it because I learnt from experience. And I do not prefer crispy. Or chewy. Which is how it turns out. Funny thing is I have lasagna planned for our dinner tonight too!

Noo, definitely leave the pasta layer on top! It will get slightly crispy and it is delicious.

first-time-mama : Yesterday, Ce and I were talking about premade dinners.  You know, the frozen ones.  We were discussing if they were actually cheaper than making things from scratch.  We didn't really come to a solution, except that I think I can make these things for comparable prices, and the homemade ones are almost always much better, and better for you.

Our advantage is that we buy most things in bulk and/or on sale.  The Sam's Club membership is a savior for the bulk stuff.  That isn't really applying to Lasagna, per-se, but buying 10 lbs of hamburger is cheaper than buying 2...for some reason.

Also...pics or it didn't happen.  ;)

fernsfamily : I've got about an hour in the oven and I'll let you know how it is.  The recipe that I used said to cover it for half of the cook time, so it's currently covered, maybe that'll make a difference too?

Nice! I would cover all of the pasta over with sauce/meat though, other wise it comes out all crispy! Unless you prefer crispy of course.

Honestly, this is the first time I've ever made this, so...  Maybe?  I've had lasagna before, and I don't really remember if I prefer the crispy or not...it's been ages since I've had one that wasn't from the freezer aisle.

I get it and so does my dad - we both have ibs and he has gluten and glucose intolerance and every other allergy under the sun. I usually end up eating pure sugar haha

My dad also gets this, but he's in his 70s.  I haven't found a good way to manage it, because it's so infrequent.  I literally haven't had a problem for 4 months or so.  

I think what happens is:  I have an extra sugary day, drinking more soda than normal, eating extra chocolate or sugary things...then when my body finishes burning that up, that's an influx of insulin, because that's still flowing in...and...  Boom.  Body's yelling for sugar, because it's super low.

Stupid app... Sorry Casey. I was trying to get that to publish and it did it privately...  Here it is though. Thank you copy and paste.

I keep meaning to post this, but I keep getting distracted... So, here goes.

Since we bought the house, we've been doing a lot of the diy type things. Our yard hasn't had any pesticides or chemicals used on it. Though we do have a compost heap for the garden.... And we have a non motorized lawn mower... I'm so glad that the yard is somewhat small.

Consistency isn't one of my strengths.  I get bored with the same old, same old type routine.... But tradition is really strong with my family... And it drives me crazy. Another side effect of that is that I've got a thousand unfinished things around the house.

I've always been sort of the loner type. Popular people don't sit well with me. I try (emphasis on try) to keep a few close friends, because I just don't have time or mental capacity to handle many of them.

I have memory problems. It's difficult for me to remember things for long periods of time. My childhood is mostly gone, I remember a few things here and there, but nothing really significant. My memory actually starts when I'm in my mid teens, and even then it's mostly a blur. It is a major challenge to get to know people, because I have trouble retaining things. Work is even worse because I literally see people for an hour is per week.   It's not quite as bad as it sounds reading this, but that describes it fairly well.

I'm a very laid back person most of the time.... Except that I have obsessive aspects to my personality. Yet another thing that drives ce crazy. I'll get an idea stuck in my head and need to run with it.... Or when I get a song stuck, I listen to it a billion times before it stops.

What song seems to always come into your head at random times of your life? SO MANY. Torn by Natalie Imbruglia. Out of Reach by Gabrielle. The Man Who Sold the World as covered by Nirvana... Those are the most random ones. The others seem to kind of make sense at the time they come to me.

If you could be amazingly brilliant at one thing what would it be? It's a toss up between writing and acting. I dunno. I might lean a little more towards writing. These questions are tough!

Who is on your “if you could, you would” list? If I could time travel back to 1978 then John Travolta would probably be my number one. Other than that, I would have to think for a really long time to come up with anyone else. I don't really crush on celebrities or anything.

What toys can you remember from childhood? All of them, so I'll go for the most special one... I had a My Child doll. I remember the ads on TV for them, and how desperately I wanted one, and then my grandparents gave me one for Christmas and it was so magical and special and I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world. I kissed her on her button nose straight away so she would be mine forever, because that's what the ad said! My sister was super jealous, but she helped me come up with a name anyway, and even at six or seven I realised how kind that was of my sister. We named the doll Vanessa.

Favourite pun? What's worse than plastic tits? A cardboard box.

I’ve got over 200

i can't wait till my collection gets that high! i have such an addiction. i order all my movies off amazon for cheap. i don't have cable in my room so i like to keep a selection for myself..that way i never get bored watching the same movies over and over.
