Where does my worth come from?
Sometimes, singleness is hard to embrace with both arms wide open. Especially when you see so many people, even people who are younger than you, have someone beside them holding their hands and smiling goofily, taking care of each other, arguing about the stupidest thing with each other (yikes). I cant help but wonder, is there something in my life that I've been missing on? Am I running out of time whenever I see 18-year olds having more experience than a (barely) 22-year old single women.
Then I came across Leviticus 15. Which is so hard for me to understand because I haven't had any sexual relations/ not even have a boyfriend at the moment or ever. Does this even really apply to me?
I almost gave up on this chapter but thank God for #First5 which is is such a big help in my spiritual journey and everyday devotion. They made sure to put additional verses like 1 Corinthians 6-7 which encourages you to dig deeper into the word.
Ahhh the comfort of the God's word. Whenever I feel inadequate, struggling with my singleness. Trying to look for a man to complete me, I thank God for always leading me to His word.
1 Corinthians 7:7
I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.
See!!! God has someone in mind for you. He always has. Sometimes, I think about my singleness as if God is withholding the good things from me. Like He never wanted me to be happy. But as I think hard about it, if I always have this kind of mentality, it means that I am letting my worth come from man and not from God. Which is totally wrong!!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
I admit that there are certain areas of my life that is much more easier to give to God and there are areas which I took some time before I even fully surrender to God.
It always always comes down from our faith with Jesus Christ. Do we fully trust Him with our lives? If we want to remain in Christ, it's not a 'God, I give you this portion of myself and the rest is for myself.'
No!! It doesn't work that way. In order for God to fully reveal himself in every parts of our life, we have to work on our faith and strengthen it so that God can fully work on our lives.
God wants your permission. He is such a gentleman. God gave us the freedom to live in our own terms. But if you want to live Jesus-filled life you have to make a choice and agree to His terms. And let's not confuse God as a dominating God who doesn't listen to what you are about to say. God knows our deepest thoughts and desires. He knows us more than we know ourselves. All these restrictions written in the Bible are just merely a reminder of how God values us, and how much He wants to protect us from sin. We are all God's greatest possession. If we weren't, He wouldn't give His only begotten son to die for our sins.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God offers us pure and everlasting love. More precious than we will ever get from a boy or someone whom we try to put our worth into.
I'm so glad our worth comes from the Lord!!!! Let's celebrate the good news today and everyday ❤️
A flip through my @cocoa_daisy February TN. I used it for my "take-always" from the Bible study Finding I Am as well as the First 5 app. I was practicing using my new Platinum carbon ink fountain pen #findingiam #first5app #first5 #planner #plan_it_art #sanitythruartjournaling #fountainpen #fountainpenfollies #platinumpen

The enemy is always scheming and striving to convince us that a little sin won’t hurt. The lies he feeds us have potential to build a false mindset within us creating cracks in our faith. They compromise our obedience to God, allowing sin to seep in and settle into the deep places of our soul, which not only affect us but also those we do life with. So let’s be willing to ask the questions we’re tempted to avoid: What have I allowed into my life and deemed “innocent” that is potentially harmful? Am I mingling with someone who has become a bad influence? What unhealthy habits have I justified to fulfill my personal desires? Take some time to process these questions with the Lord. Allow Him to renew your mind with His truth and be willing to take new steps towards make better choices starting today. - Leah DiPascal #First5
