Jasper Whitlock
After abandoning his role in the Southern Vampire Wars, Jasper went into a period of isolation to control his thirst. He could not bear any more death by his hands. Experiencing the pain that joined alongside their deaths, Jasper's empathetic gift nearly drove him into insanity. He still feels his victims pain with every passing moment.
This is why it is incredibly rare for Jasper to lose control of his thirst and viciously attack an innocent passerby.

Jace Wayland
The Shadow Hunter experienced incredible abuse throughout his childhood at the hands of Valentine Morgenstern. When he meets his father face-to-face, Jace's snarky demeanor often shatters completely as he becomes the scared little boy that he once was.
Just when he thinks that he has truly stopped being a victim and transitioned into a survivor, a punch or even a simple slap from Valentine brings the memories into the forefronts of his mind.
((A word of caution: Friends should be especially delicate with Jace if they find him in this protective position. He will often be reliving his horrific memories so patience must be delicately executed here. On another note, I'm rather proud of how this piece turned out.))

Nuada Silverlance, Prince of Bethmoora
After having a patriotic Uncle Sam hat placed upon his head from an unknown prankster (Jace I'm looking at you), Nuada is seriously contemplating murder.
He does not know for certain who dared to place a hat made by humans on him, but the elf knows for sure that they will pay for it.
((I'm also quite pleased with how Nuada turned out in this piece. One of these days I need to draw him with his mechanical arm.))
