French meant a lot to her, it came from a place where she remembered feeling safe and to be able to speak it more freely than before was nice. She felt each day that passed bringing her closer to that feeling again. ❝But, you are getting better. You are trying hard I can tell. ❞

If someone had told her she would end up working in the States she wouldn’t have believed them. Here she was, somehow she got work in a military hospital. The days were long, and plenty of things to do. It was almost like working at home when she was in A&E. It was a different society she had entered, where it seemed like they lived by rank and not like the rest of the world. Not that she minded, most people she met were nice and well mannered. Thankfully she just worked for those who lived on the base and couldn’t be sent out into the field. It was just like home, but she had to remember how she had to adress them.

Pulling her hair back as she held the folder for whoever she was going to see next under her arm she quickly went through the papers before pulling the curtain to the side to see who her next patient “Sergeant DeLuca?” she looked up again at the man “What can I do for you today?”

it was their source of argument for the day. there was always something and today it was the colour of the wall. their knew what they truly wanted, but neither liked what the other had to offer. said wall was covered in painted on swatches, all there for comparison with the little swatch cards stuck underneath so they could remember the different colours that all looked so similar.

jack had given up on standing for this particular argument about a quarter of an hour before, sitting on the floor of the almost entirely bare room, back up against the opposite wall as he analysed their options once again. rolling his eyes as the harsh word fell from his wife’s lips at his suggested choice of colour, his head fell back against the wall as he gestured an arm towards the dozen or so swatches on the wall. “i still can’t tell the fucking difference between half of them, you know. how similar are custard and cheesecake, jesus christ.”

     Billy rounded a corner and collided with someone. “Jesus.” He said his arms extending out. Her put on that faux sweet, charming smile he wore so well. “I’m sorry.” He’ll say softly as the other person steadies themselves. He bends down to help pick of the dropped books. 

   “See I’m not the only one late for class today.”
