Inquisitive green eyes studied the older woman, a lapse of silence ensuing between them, before Ellie’s lips parted and she uttered a quiet, “Hey.” There was something so familiar about the blonde that she couldn’t quite place. Had they met before? Ellie’s expression did not give away to the dissonant thoughts going through her head. She made no move to amble by and continue on her way, however; it was almost as if she was waiting for the other to offer some form of clarity and quash this sense of familiarity so Ellie could chalk it up to just being reminded of someone else. Her gaze averted—drifting down to the well-worn leather boots she was wearing—only to lift again moments later to level with the stranger’s unwavering blue hues.
