An End in Sight: Induction
Well, folks, my first pregnancy is drawing to a close.
Tomorrow I will end my 40th week of pregnancy, and my doctor has scheduled an induction for Friday evening.
I’ve been doing a lot of reading about inductions, to quell my fears a bit. So far I am beginning to feel more at ease with the idea...but I still have some concerns:
1) Will my labor be longer, and potentially more painful?
2) Will I end up needing a c-section (I sure hope not)
3) Will I no longer be able to labor by walking or soaking in a tub?
Hoping to talk to a couple of nurse friends tomorrow, to get their take. In the meantime, it has been helpful visiting online forums addressing similar questions. Lots of Mamas have described positive experiences, but some c-section stories have been sprinkled in.
Either way, I am trying to prepare and “cope” as best I can. Reminding myself that the most important thing will be delivering a healthy baby!
