The best way to cook salmon is to just cook it right before you go to bed. The biggest problem is overcooking, which takes forever. You don't want to spend half an hour just watching a food slowly go bad, especially if it's a big fish like salmon.

One way to do this is to just cook the fish in water and salt, with a little bit of butter sprinkled on top. You can do this in the microwave, which takes roughly 20 seconds if its an 8-ounce blob of fish fillets.

Another is to use a pressure cooker. The biggest benefit is that it will keep the fish pretty fresh most of the time. You can even make a quick meal with leftover salmon, which tends to be pretty disappointing.
