Some bits and bobs that I’ll add onto as I think about him more

He has the acne-that-gets-worse-with-the-state-of-the-country that I’ve given to Alfred, but it’s not as bad and is only really an issue when it’s like ten gallons of shit that’s hit the fan. Which of course has happened more than a few times for him but usually he’ll just get a more bit red and oily, nothing too far over his baseline.

By default his skin is pretty oily; it’s all the rain and humidity that comes with being an island nation. Cleansers and moisturizers are part of his routine but he works more on “does it feel bad right now?” as opposed to an actual regular routine. Every other day when he remembers type deal. Francis has given him a lot of other products and tries to get him to be more diligent with them but /shrug

Has a bit of a baby face but also the visible weariness that comes with being ancient.

I Like Skin

First time in my collective years of being into Hetalia that I’ve drawn everyone in the main cast! This was mainly to just figure out how I want to draw everyone and especially their skin.

I was going to also write out everyone’s individual skin HCs but I started spiraling down into Too Much Research about climate change so uhhh that’s for later down the line….

The quick ones I’ll point out are that Francis has Rosacea like how I draw Matthew and Ivan’s skin is super dry and flaky from the cold. Also Kiku has chronic radiation dermatitis and his skin is sensitive in general.

Aro Alfred compulsively dating and writing letters to women when he was younger because he really wanted to be among his people as one of them and held the belief that if he could just feel the spark of romance, it would be proof that he's Just Like Them. He tries and tries again to feel "that spark" but it never really happens and it kinda just makes him spiral. He figures himself out eventually but's it's a super sore spot for a really long time because his religious roots have embedded in him the idea of the Traditional Marriage and he's always known it's implausible for him but. yk.

Names and designs and personalities still very much in the workshop but. Rihi’s “parents”, the former County of Vaduz and Lordship of Schellenberg, now municipalities of Liechtenstein. They didn’t get to see her much during her childhood because she didn’t start living in her nation until 1790 and even then she was mainly kept away from them cuz the bailiffs she was set to live with weren’t fond of them. Will write more on em later down the line

Seeing nickname talk made me want to try thinking about what I call everyone lmao so here be my list of weird/notable nicknames.

Liechtenstein: Rihi / Rihitan -> sorry for being a weeb I’ve explained this before but it’s from her Japanese name -> Whenever I say Liechten I’m usually talking about the country/family

Spain: Tonio / Spepe -> Spepe (like, spépé) is my most oddball nickname and I never rlly write it out but it comes from my friend’s nickname for Special Week umamusume (Spepechi). It’s fun to say and I kinda just ended up adopting it for him LMAO

America: Alfie / Al / Ame / Mei -> I don’t ever call him Fred because even though I know that’s one way to shorten it my mind registers it as a completely different name lmaoo -> Ame like Amé. Like Amelia Watson Hololive. Ameme if my brain is being extra quirky -> Mei like 米 which is how America is shortened in Chinese. It’s read Bei in Japanese but Mei is cuter. -> literally calling him anything but Fred 😭

England: Art(ie) / Iggy -> I love Art as a nickname it’s so cute

Slowjamastan: SJ / Slojo -> SJ is his human name to me. What does it stand for? Who knows. Ily SJ.

Molossia: Molly -> I love. Giving dudes cute girl names. Molly. Ily Molly I’m going to beat you with a stick.

Prussia: Puuchan / Gil -> This is the first time I’ve ever romanized プーちゃん and it looks weird as hell LMAO never writing that again

Vietnam: (Kak) Vivi -> I don’t know if non Indonesians call her Vivi but a lot of Indonesians call her Vivi

Philippines: Piri -> What all the SEANs I’ve seen call him

2p!NyoJapan: Hii-chan -> I don’t know if JP fans have a common name for her but I just call her Hii-chan from the spider lily in her hair. If she doesn’t have one I’ll come up with one for her one day. I like her a lot.

Everyone else just gets the most common shortening of their country/human name. Singa, Nor, Matt(ie), Feli, etc. nothing interesting

Random but I like Arthur x Alice K. (NyoEng) in a lavender marriage way. Gay Arthur and Aro/Bi Alice. In whatever AU this is they’re like each other’s most trusted confidant and they’re very close as friends, despite how much Arthur tries to deny it. First met each other through a high society party or something and after many more chance encounters found they got along surprisingly well, eventually deciding to marry each other for convenience and to get their families out of their hair.
