I'm reading a book about how to take care of a goldfish! It's got some pretty tenta-cool facts in here... Did you know that goldfish can breathe in the air AND the water? And the world record for the longest-living goldfish is 43 years!! Ink-credible, right? They also have a memory span of up to three months, and are actually rather fin-telligent! Ever heard the term "memory of a goldfish?" Con-sea-der it DEBUNKED!
in your professional opinion what is the best fish based on sheer swagitude
I, like many other fishblr users, am a HUGE fan of Sockeye Salmon... but I also really like this fella

They're called Dinosaur Bichirs and they're an eel that, like their name, have been here since the dinosaurs walked the earth. They have hard scales to protect them and even actual lungs that breathe air. They can "walk" on land by using their fins!! They're very silly and I love them a lot. I have one named Poseidon :3
Fish Fact Friday! 2/21/25

🐠 Daily Fish Fact: 🐠
The Ornate Ghost Pipefish, or harlequin ghost pipefish, is a false pipefish. The species' name comes from the Greek paradoxos, referring to this fish's unusual external features. Although relatively common, ornate ghost pipefish are very well-camouflaged and difficult to find. It occurs either as solitary individuals or in pairs, among floating weeds, or crinoids where the feed on mysids and small benthic shrimp.
NEW FISH?!
I now have a new dumb animal fact. I can now bring up the "Vanderhorstia Supersaiyan".
A new fish species has been named Vanderhorstia Supersaiyan, and yes, it’s a nod to Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation from Dragon Ball.
This is the next best thing since the "Megaloblatta longipennis" and the "Hotwheels sisyphus".
three (and a half) part question:
if you were a fish, what fish would you be?
about what size is that fish and also what type of prey does it usually go for?
if i was an alligator gar and you were your fish, do you think our fish would be fishy friends?
when looking for fish it made me remember when i was 16 and said "i dont know what it is but flying fish are kind of gender"
okay. now i HAVE to go to barbados at least once in my life. im a flying fish. i gotta visit the land of the flying fish.....
don't panic! we are fishy friends.

til that all fishes under one year old are called “young of year” and i think it’s high time we apply this to absolutely everything
also fishery analysts pretend that all fishes are hatched on jan 1. this is my official petition to change new year’s day to new fish day
