The second shawl is listed on my store.

Herbicides that even Fish Mint can't beat (Essay)
Killed Fish mints
Fish mint is a tough plant. I heard that when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and when Agent Orange was sprayed on Vietnam, this plant sprouted before any other plants.
Fish Mint
By the way, the family who moved into my house after renovating it are car enthusiasts who spread gravel in the garden. Fish mint was growing there, so the owner sprayed herbicides on it.
I thought that would not be enough to kill the Fish mint, but a month passed without sprouts. I felt that they must have sprayed a strong herbicide, and when I looked into it, I found that they must have sprayed Roundup.
Roundup is a neonicotinoid pesticide that enters the plant body through the leaves and kills the underground stems of fish mint. The underground stems are the lifeline of this plant, so if they are damaged, it will surely die.
Fish mint is a medicinal herb, and I'm sure it has been used, so I'm afraid I have to disagree with the method of extermination. Neonicotinoid pesticides kill insects, especially honeybees, and threaten humankind's survival and are banned in Europe. (Albert Einstein said that if the honeybee became extinct, humanity would perish within seven years.)

Fish Mint
Pstrolistka sercowata, hutujnia sercowata, tułacz pstry (Houttuynia cordata)
fish mint, fish leaf, rainbow plant, chameleon plant, heart leaf, fish wort, or Chinese lizard tail (Houttuynia cordata)
Speaking of leaves I’m trying to figure out…
My gardening group has been abuzz about this plant that grows rampant in Japan (??? in Tokyo? in my neighborhood?). Its Japanese name is ドクダミ (dokudami; from 毒留め dokudome, or ‘poison-stopper’). People think of it as a weed, but it has cute, heart-shaped leaves and a pretty little white flower with a comically phallic conic center, and apparently makes a nice, healthy tea or herbal garnish! Apparently very popular in Vietnamese cooking.
But, true to its name, it can also be used to treat bug bites! So the other day, when I didn’t think to put on bugspray for a walk cause it’s only May so I got bit allllllllll the fuck over my feet, I simply swiveled my head until I saw one (much like how a Masshole would to locate a Dunkin Donuts), pinched off a leaf with my fingernails, and rubbed it against a rock to make a paste, and guess what?? It stopped the itching instantaneously. Magic.
The thing is, I then made the mistake of smelling my hand, at which point I immediately remembered the English name of this plant: fish mint! And buddy lemme tell you: it lives the fuck up to its name. Especially the first part. To the extent that even an itch doesn’t want anything to do with you. So you may have to choose between itch and stink, but luckily(?), Japan is still very much in a pandemic (and will be well through 2022) and I don’t want anyone to come anywhere near me at any time for any reason, so it’s actually a plus to smell like trout mouthwash. For the time being. Thank you, dokudami! Your little flowers are cute.
Chameleon Plant Initially, I thought that this flower might be a yerba mansa plant or lizard tail (Anemopsis californica). However, since yerba mansa is native to California, it’s not likely to be growing in the wild here in Japan. Further exploration revealed that this is most likely a chameleon plant (Houttuynia cordata), which is native to Japan and goes by several other names: Chinese lizard tail, fish mint, fish leaf, fish wort, heart leaf, or rainbow plant.
