Peeta would TOTALLY take Katniss’s name if they get married.

Katniss’s family has always been incredibly valuable to her and most of them aren’t around anymore. I find it SUPER hard to believe Katniss “I volunteer ” Everdeen would sever of one of her last ties to them if you put a gun to her head, let alone just getting married.

Peeta on the other hand has a pretty bad relationship with his family. His mum was abusive and none of his brothers even pretended to volunteer for him at the reaping. All through the books he’s shown to know what to do to get attention from people, how to silently take care of himself and how to take mistreatment from people to deescalate conflict. Ofc he’d LEAP at the chance to start a new family with the woman he loves most in the world.

The scene of Stratt telling Grace “Don’t say this is about your students it’s so insulting” actually makes my blood cold everytime.

Like the way people try to measure joy for life by the amount of friends you have or if you’re in a relationship or not scares the shit out of me.

Grace didn’t have many friends but he still had people he saw everyday and made a difference in their lives. He had his students and Carl and the other scientists. But they aren’t “real connections” because you haven’t completed tasks XYZ to confirm companionship.

As if if Grace died, nobody would miss him because he hasn’t filled the requirements for being a loved person or not. Which is, quite frankly, so insulting to all the little connections and lives he changes each day. Connections don’t have to have labels, they are in everybody we briefly cross paths with and slightly change our day.
