Both the “Absolute terrifying abomination of a creature to others and their small, cute, hyperactive partner who loves them” trope of shipping part of it, the idea of Rivulet loving talking and Spearmaster liking to listen to them, and the fact that they are both absolute abominations to nature and science respectively.
Rivulet would definitely be the one who holds vast quantities of knowledge who Spearmaster learns from, not the other way around.
Spear is likely great at drawing and writing in the karmatic language, but seeing how Rivulet is likely a traveler of the world (Judging by the mark, adaptations to traverse areas swiftly, and their campaign intro), I headcanon them to often travel past the grounds of Pebbles and Moon to collect pearls for LTTM, and has obtained more than twice the amount of pearls in her and Pebbles’ grounds, and is therefore extremely knowledgeable in ancient culture, philosophy, and the nature of the cycle due to the explanations given by Moon.
Spearmaster was created specifically for the purpose of being a messenger, and likely had no idea what they were doing during both trips to Pebbles, just following orders given by Suns. This also means they canonically likely have had the least amount of time in the wilds compared to any other slugcat, considering they were out for only two trips and kept as a housecat ever since, so they wouldn’t really know much, just being at the average slugcat intelligence.
