you're right, it shouldn't be normalised! grooming is a disgusting little maggot of society. my art isn't really the underlying issue in that, though.
groomers and rapists will always use whatever they can get their dirty little mitts on to harm their victims. even "non-problematic" fanart becomes an issue if you're looking at a manipulator's tools. imagine how easy it would be for someone to say "we're just like these two characters and they're a completely normal couple!"
people also point to graphic movies and video games as a cause of violence, but we all know it's pretty much bs. for example, when i was a kid i'd fantasise about cutting myself because i was into the emo subculture! but i can recognise that the media wasn't what made me feel that way. if a child thinks rape or violence in media is "cool" or "okay", it's mainly because of other circumstances in their life that made them perceive it that way. that's why the concept of being proship is so shunned in the first place; our natural instinct is SUPPOSED to be repulsion towards these topics.
the point is, if someone wants to harm someone, there's no way of knowing it until they do. we can't try to take away resources from someone whose goal is to take literally anything and skew it in some way that will get them what they want. the only way we can really protect children is to teach them the skills they need to avoid predators and seek help if they find themselves being hurt.
