The documents spell out multiple apparent causes. Some owners’ 12-volt batteries are dying, which causes the vehicle to shut down suddenly. This problem could appear as the car’s vehicle control units drain the 12-volt battery too quickly — similar to what some other new EVs like the Mustang Mach-E encountered in their early going.
Internal documents viewed by TechCrunch show a series of problems with the Fisker Ocean SUV including sudden power loss and brake problems.
This is so funny to me, because the New Car drawing too much power from it's 12 volt battery is apparently a thing.
It happened to the DeLorean. The stock alternator on early DeLoreans cannot support driving the car at high speed, have the a/c on full blast, fans on high, with the headlights and high beams on, while playing the radio. Famously Johnny Carson's DeLorean died because he was doing all of those things on a drive.
And here we are, a different car company, 40 years later, drawing too much power from the battery and they're dying on the roads. Same as it ever was.

Fisker: The Case for Design
Fisker sell off rally has made me rethink the role that design plays versus the role a businessman plays.
Before fisker stock was delisted to OTC, I was one of the fanboys who bought in towards the tail end of their delisting. Originally, I bought in at roughly $3.50 assuming the volatility squeeze would take it past $5. Thats what all the headlines said anyway. What would end up happening is Fisker would plunge to $1, as short sellers kept pushing the price down and there just wasn`t enough demand…
