‘   i’m  not  mad,  chase.  ’    her  tones  softens  compared  to  the  one  she  used  before.   she  crosses  the  distance  between  them  and  sits  down  on  his  self  made  hammock,  hoping  it  will  hold  both  of  them.    ‘   i  understand  why  you  did  what  you  did.  ’     while  she  hadn’t  jumped  up  to  defend  him,   she  understood  the  reason  behind  his  actions.   it  would  be  hypocritical  not  to;   when  herself  had  met  with  jonah  numberous  times  during  the  same  period.    ‘   i  just  wanted  to  see  if  you’re  alright.  ’    after  all,  he  just  lost  both  of  his  parents.   with  one  of  them  saving  both  chase  and  karolina.

alison's  immediate  response  is  derisive laughter.  chase  doesn't  really  have  the  right  to  comment  on  if  she's  alone  or  not.  they  broke  up.  the  steins  and  the  dilaurentises  had  pushed  them  together  and  it  had  backfired  tremendously.  chase  and  alison  had  worked  for  a  while,  until  they  didn't.  ❝  and  what  are  you  going  to  do  if  he  is?  ❞  alison  asked,  holding  the  phone  up  to  her  ear  and  looking  over  at  her  bed,  ❝  you  don't  have  any  claim  on  me,  chase.  you  gave  that  up.  ❞
