Meet Dr. David Gem, also known as Fistman, the de facto leader of the League of Heroes.
A childish energetic scientist and known as one of the smartest people on the planet, at least academically. People-wise he hasn’t a clue, which is how he can be tricked into working for a secret society that was trying to create superhumans for their own personal army. Crushed by the revelation he used his own experimental formulas and tech from the facility to turn himself into the sort of super soldier that could stop them.
Years later he was the head of his own company, Shining Gem Laboratories, one of the leading establishments of human advancement with his genius at the forefront of it all despite his naivety and barely contained PTSD from the aforementioned secret society he had to thwart.
Dr. Gem has adrenally enhanced strength, agility, and senses. As he gets more excited and more in danger his boy becomes greater than before, making it impossible to tell that the short reedy scientist is really Fistman. Additionally he attained the ability to fly from an unexpected natural mutation.
However he isn’t bulletproof, just resistant, and his strength can only carry him so far. He’s also just not that great at fighting, which is why Fistman’s primary methods of fighting crime and helping people is gadgets that he keeps in hist trusty utility belt which many spare parents that he can use to create neat little helpful tools on the fly.
David Gem was a twin, however, his brother William and his wife Diana had tragically died, leaving David to care for their son, Tai Gem.
When not being a superhero or raising his nephew, he’s inventing new patents and providing ways for law enforcement to handle and contain new and ongoing superhuman threats.
