Our team of doctors and nurses who carried out the surgeries on these women are the real heroes! The surgeries from this pool effort were mostly complicated ones which took lots of hours and skill to repair. We're so glad they were all successful. Yes, fistula can be repaired, but we would very much prefer prevention. Let's raise up our voices for girl child education and quality maternal healthcare throughout Africa. The @myextendedhands foundation was recently at the Mariam Abacha Women and Children's Hospital in Sokoto. A total of 25 women formerly living with Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) have received free repair surgeries, giving them a chance to live normal lives again. The surgeries were carried out at the Maryam Abacha Woman and Children (VVF Hospital) Sultan Bello Rd, Sokoto. All the repairs have been completed successfully and the women are recovering well. We're thankful to our sponsors NNPC/SNEPCo for believing in this cause and helping us touch the lives of women across Africa positively.
