How I have to dress in Colorado for spring. I want to bust out with the full tank top and a short skirt but I get cold so easily so a jacket and capris leggings are how I compromise. Still getting the opportunity to wear some sandals, as I gotta wear sandals during spring and summer. Sandals make me happy. Me and my sister are taking my mom to a nursery so she can pick out exactly the right fern she wants because I'm not a flower or plant person.  I'll take a fake flower or fake plant any day of the week. Yo, tumblr, have you ever experienced that deeply, deeply annoying thing where you think, “damn, I really must get those trousers shortened” for the best part of two years, only to discover that they actually didn’t need shortening at all?

Like  I said, annoying. Admittedly I’d never tried them on with these shoes before, mainly because I didn’t own them when I bought the trousers. Back when I was prescribed my much loathed, outfit-ruining orthotics, the podiatrist recommended I look into Fitflops but up until now I’d never had much luck with them. I’m not entirely sure they give me quite as much support as my orthotics and, in common with most ergonomic/comfort shoes, they have hideous grey rubber soles, but they are metallic and extremely comfortable. Plus the tasselled laces are a nice touch.

You’ve seen the sweater and the scarf in prior outfit posts, though not together. As you can see I’m still obsessed with shades of mauve, lilac, purple et al. It’s still not cold enough to wear my new lavender coat, but sooooon.

The damndest thing about the coat is that it’s still not on the M&S website, despite having come into the stores at least a month ago. Initially I was told they weren’t permitted to sell it to me as it’s supposed to be part of a big promotion. (Fortunately the “DON’T SELL THIS COAT UNDER PAIN OF DEATH!” message on the till disappeared when the cashier hit another button so she relented). I’d assumed it would probably be included in Holly Willoughby’s much vaunted Must Haves range, which debuted yesterday, but no. In the mean time, according to the press, M&S have been gifting it left, right, and centre to celebrities and "influencers” since August to pimp on their blogs as this year’s A/W It Coat. 

I finally found this on the Hello website tonight. (Yes, I stole it; please don’t sue me, Hello). Do admit it is a Thing of Beauty. It comes in mustard as well.

Well, that and the fact they go so well with my jumper. Keeping it short and sweet today, tumblr. I’m sorry my posts have become more sporadic of late but I currently have some Heavy Shit to deal with life wise, (not health related, just difficult and par for the course in middle age), so the blog’s had to take a bit of a back seat again.
